We have know for a while that my son and daughter-in-law were having twins.

We found out today that they are both boys !!

Their oldest is 3 1/2, .. he wants to name them Mac & Cheese.

That's what I used to say, too, since they ran in my family. I don't anymore, but I applaud those who have them. I'd bet it's like working two jobs at the same time. lol

Especially with a 4 yr old, who is all boy and into everything.

They are definitively going to need help. They are fortunate that both sets of grandparents live close.

Congratulations. My twin boys are almost two years old now. It's not double the work -- it's exponential. Give them all the help you can. They'll need it. There were nights, after weeks on end with no sleep, that my body would go numb.

The bond they have is unreal. It's something to watch. I'll give one of them both sippy cups and he'll immediately run to brother and hand him one. Eventually they can keep each other busy but that first year is one of the hardest things they'll encounter in life without question.

As a father of twins, it is very exhausting but rewarding at the same time. Sleep is something that the parents will not get, so if you can help them I am sure that it will be appreciated. My parents and in-laws were across country so it was difficult for my wife and I. Definitely have them ask for the twin discounts from companies. Many companies will give coupons or discounts for families that have multiples. Proctor and Gamble was one of them for us. The boys will have a bond that be strong throughout their life. Congratulations and best of luck to your son and daughter-in -law.

Daughter-in-law had in depth ultrasound pics taken today of the boys.

Everything checked out fine. Both are the same size. (within an oz.) I guess sometimes it is a concern if one is ahead of the other.

Even though they are not identical twins, .. they do look alike, and the cool thing is they look like their older brother, .. especially around the nose and mouth.

They will be here by Thanksgiving, ... can't wait.

It took me a while, but I finally have to agree with you and admit that yes, you are right, I am an old man.

I'm right there with you WV. My oldest is leaving the nest for college and I can remember the day she was born. It'll be a strange feeling not having her at home tonight. And you're right...it does sneak up on you and it's unreal where the years have gone. I wish your grandchildren many years of health, happiness and prosperity.

I am not one to get emotional very often, but I can admit that leaving my son at college and driving away without him put a lump in my throat and brought a tear to my eye.

I wish your daughter the best as she leaves home and goes out on her own, .. and you as well (and her mother if that's the case) because it is an adjustment that is tough.
I know it is part of life, but that doesn't make it any easier.
