dont have any kids at the moment. but my wife wants twins.

says its like knocking out two birds w one stone

It's not. For a new parent, going straight from zone to man coverage would be a nightmare. I learned my lesson raising two puppies at once. You get a pack mentality, and they reinforce each other's bad behavior.

My kids are spaced three years apart, and they're still nightmares. You want to have one, gang up on it and force it into submission, then have another so you can point at the first one as an object lesson re: what not to do in growing up.

They are almost here! Both are about 5 lbs now. Doctor says all is good.

They are due Nov. 17. Daughter-in-law is huge!

It's going to be a zoo! Can't wait!

With only one boy, my son has been using man-to-man coverage, .. but with the twin boys coming he is going to have to go zone. LOL

I asked a fried on mine who has 12 yr old twin boys for any advice she could give us. She told me to load up on child-proof safety locks.

She said what they couldn't get on their own, they could team up and get anything together.

She walked in on them once when they were three, and one was standing on the others shoulders reaching up real high to get something that neither could reach on their own. LOL

Once she found one of them holding a heavy door open long enough for the other to crawl in and get something that they couldn't get alone.

She said they are invincible together.

Should get interesting.

Any advice or suggestions that you guys have would be welcome.
Hire help if possible. Ha! Seriously though, a night nurse, even for a day or two a week, is a godsend. Those first few months are unbelievably rough. Nothing on earth can prepare someone for how hard it is.

Congratulations, particularly on getting them to 6 lbs. That's impressive for twins!

I was literally worried for my daughter-in-law. She went full term.

She was sooooo big. Sticking out to the sides, sticking out in front, ... she was miserable.

I told her she looked like she could burst and fly around the room like a popped balloon. LOL

Help them out as much as you can so they can get some sleep ( I already know that you will do that but it helped when my mother came). Definitely ask for twin discounts. Companies will send them things for free or at discount price. Proctor and Gamble is one company. This was important to us because things got very expensive especially formula after my wife stop breast feeding. Here is an important advice I can give: Make sure that people treat them as individuals not as twins. They are their own person just like if they were younger or older brother. In school by the 1st grade it is best to have in them in different classes so they can grow as individuals. My daughters have the same friends but are totally different of each other especially with their personality. They still have a very close bond that will never go away but have different interests and that is fine with my wife and I. Most importantly, tell them to enjoy the moment. Twins are twice the trouble but twice the fun and it goes by way to fast. Congrats and if there is anything else I can help you or your son and daughter-in-law with please let me know.

Congratulations to you and yours, WV. I've never had twins, so I don't have any advice to give you, but I figure you are pretty much guaranteed to have double the trouble and double the fun! Just try not to think about the high school years and double the driving lessons yet.;)
