@5:33 "I'll never forget the year before, we were looking at quarterbacks at that particular time in the draft room. And Coach Linehan walks in and we look at quite a few -- he was out with the team during OTA's, our equivalent of spring practice. And we looked at some of the best ones that were there, and he said, 'We got a better one right out here on the practice field in Brandon Weeden' ".

@9:44 "Certainly if Linehan had had the opportunity, completely up to him, you probably would have Moore in there from the get-go that we lost Tony early."

So once we'd acquired Weeden, Linehan liked Weeden better than any of the QB we were looking at prior to the 2014 draft. This would be March-May of 2014.

Then 16-18 months later, we know Linehan liked Moore better than Weeden, to the point that he'd have preferred Moore (who'd never played a down) to be the starter in week 3 against the Falcons.

What Jerry and Stephen saw in Weeden I'll never know. Bringing him in in 2014, I understand, but he would have been cut right after that Cardinals game or directly after the 2014 season ended.

Jerry was behind both Weeden and Randle before the 2015 season, both are no longer with this team. I'm not one to get on the "Bash Jerruh" bandwagon, but he needs to take a seat and let his staff decide on who they want on the roster. If it doesn't work out, move on from that staff.

I think there are too many chiefs not enough Indians.

Garrett still runs the offense IMO. Callahan got jerked around and now is helping the Skins make the playoffs. We know Linehan helped Romo have his greatest season but Garrett I bet still throttles things back like drumming it into Weeden to check down.

Callahan called the plays last season, then he moved on to win the East this year with the Commanders 2015 OLine looking dominant and the Dallas OLine flailing compared to 2014.

So our OC wanted a guy who'd never taken a snap in an NFL game, and who'd only been on our practice squad for two weeks, to move up ahead of our #2 QB who had originally impressed him, and who was just coming off a game in which he threw a TD pass to secure the win?

Unless you think Linehan suddenly saw something incredibly bad from Weeden in practice during those two weeks, or thought Moore looked like the second coming of Otto Graham, you'd have to conclude that he wasn't happy at all with Weeden going into the season.

The Commanders suck, the other three teams in the East just suck more this year.

We know Linehan helped Romo have his greatest season

Which is it?

Well linehan liked moore, and if he could have moore would have got his shot earlier in the season.
And we dont know what qb's they were looking at or if he was serious saying weeden was better.

The skins will win the east.....but is that really saying much this year?

Our OL may not have been like last year but they weren't "flailing compared to 2014" for sure.

They saw in Weeden what so many other coaches and organizations see in a guy like him.

Great arm, great release and throws it accurately.

Looks fantastic in 7-on-7, but doesn't translate to the game.

And when you're looking for a backup, it fools people all of the time.

The Cardinals have a top defense and Weeden wasn't ready, so I don't have a problem with them sticking with Weeden. And the reality is that Weeden was better than Cassel and likely better than Moore.

This is what has always worried me about Garrett. I think he is a good coach when it comes to developing players, but we have yet to see if he can develop the most important position of them all. And it doesn't make a difference if you're the greatest player development coach of all time, if you can't develop the QB position you're screwed.

Ok, so we know that

Ok, so we know that Linehan has some brains and new Weeden was a joke. So who over ruled him? It was either Jerry or Garrett.

If it was Jerry, then we really do have deep rooted problems. If he is telling the coaches who to play, then we it is completely over. If it was Garrett, then at least we have hope that getting rid of him will solve some problems. We do know that Jones had a man love for Weeden.

I have seen nothing from Garrett that shows he is good at developing players. When he was the OC here he was slow to incorporate young players into the offense. Most rotted on the bench until injury happened. Williams is the only guy I can think of that was incorporated right away.

Felix Jones, Demarco Murray, Beasley, all TE's drafted high under his watch, ect....ect.....

And I dont suppose you are talking about Garrett developing defensive players correct?
