With the way other games went today, if we can finish at least 10-6, we're guaranteed to make the playoffs. We don't need to worry about any tiebreakers knocking us out if we're 10-6.

Only eight NFC teams can get to 10 wins now, and enough of the teams with five or six losses play each other (Carolina, Atlanta, the Giants and Philly) that there's no way for more than six NFC teams to make it to 10 wins.

Of course, right now we're more concerned about winning the division and possibly getting a bye, but I posted this for anyone wondering what's the minimum we need to do to make the playoffs now.

I think we're playoff bound, and I think we go undefeated the rest of the way.

The only game that scares me is the Saints game. Brees is going to tear our secondary apart if Zimmer can't figure out a way to get some pressure on him.

Payton > Zimmer

If you wanna get techincal, here's how it shakes down for Dallas for Week 14.

If Dallas wins and the Giants lose next week, Dallas is guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.

If Dallas loses and the Giants win next week, the Giants are still in the hunt for a division title.

If Dallas and the Giants both win, neither team cannot clinch division until Week 17.

Week 15:

If Dallas wins and Giants lose, Dallas clinches division.

If Dallas loses and Giants win, Giants still in division hunt. Week 17 will be determining factor.

If Dallas loses and Giants lose, Dallas clinches spot.

Week 16:

If Dallas wins and Giants lose, Dallas clinches Division and in the hunt for first-round bye.

If Dallas loses and Giants win, Dallas (statistically feasible) clinches a spot.

If Dallas wins and Giants win, Giants clinch wild-card and Dallas clinches division.

Week 17:

All factors determined by win-loss record.

We stopped Manning and his receivers. I think we have what it takes to stop Breese. Will we? I don't know but Can we? Yes we can.

Wow, unless either Atlanta or Carolina win out and the Giants win out, there will certainly be a 9-7 team make the playoffs.

We could go 1-3 and still make the playoffs. Nice.

I also think we are playoff bound and how far we go all depends on how our young guys play. They looked pretty good today to me. Adam I know why you posted this but I think Dallas will get to the second round. Maybe more depending on what the rest of the season brings. But right now I just want to see them play well for the rest of the season. The real season we can all talk about when it gets here. How about them Cowboys!

Not true.

If we win the next two and the Giants go 1-1 it will be:

Dallas 10-4
New York 7-7
We clinch.
The magic number for us to win the division is 3 (any combination of 3 Cowboys wins or Giants losses guarantees us the division. Unless Philly somehow wins their last five games)

You didn't read the Week 15 breakdown:

Week 15:

If Dallas wins and Giants lose, Dallas clinches division.

If Dallas loses and Giants win, Giants still in division hunt. Week 17 will be determining factor.

If Dallas loses and Giants lose, Dallas clinches spot.

Even better, if we win 4 more times we are guaranteed a first round bye.

I think.

For a first round bye, we need to better Seattle by one game the rest of the way. Their schedule is pretty easy after tonight.

Not if Chicago wins at least 2 more.

After tonight, they still have to play SD, which will be playing for homefield throughout the playoffs. That will not be an easy game for them. In fact, I think they lose that one.
