Do you think most of the NFL fans believe the game is legitimate in regard to not being manipulated for a specific outcome? Meaning not outright cheating by the league, but a more laissez-faire look the other way while the more powerful owners use intimidation to take advantage of other franchises through scheduling (NY Giants and Dallas this season with Hardy out) and punishment of players.

Do you believe the league is straight up and not manipulating the outcome in some fashion. Again not saying outright cheating, but the type of deal making we see in politics of a scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

I'd be interested to know if the cap really leveled the playing field as intended. It seems the strong stay strong and the weak continue their floundering, for the most part.

With a media that doesn't attempt to present what is not an agenda driven look, there is no doubt as to where sportsmanship and sacrifice hits the fan.

Nope and nope.

It's also my opinion that the precedent of convoluting the rulebook to the point where much of it is an "official's interpretation" was a specific endeavor pursued to exacerbate this motive.

Anybody paying attention could certainly come to that conclusion and it is NOT a stretch by any means.

Most? Probably not, but there certainly are some who do. There are clearly a lot of people who believe the league is biased against their team. You need look no further than this board to see those who believe the league office (usually under the manipulation of the omnipotent Mara family) is out to get the Cowboys by way of the Hardy suspension or the schedule or whatever.

I do not know what you mean by this. I do not believe most fans believe the games themselves are rigged if that is what you are asking.

I don't like these kind of questions because it sure does appear like that in many ways.

And the Cowboys and Indians had to pay for it...if you know what I mean.

What is going to happen with the rulings of Brady and Hardy will be very interesting.

The NFL is just run by human beings that bear all the faults and limitations that that condition includes.

Ownerships that favor them with whatever it takes to suit their druthers will always be at an advantage.

Well you have nothing to worry about. Goodell and Kraft have already worked out a deal that will get Brady back on the field in no time. Your Patriots are in good hands. Just relax and keep telling everyone that the NFL is not out to get anyone. ;)

There are four guys scattered across the globe on secret islands who manipulate everything from the price of oil, currencies, and of course the outcomes of NFL and MLB games. Everyone knows the fix is in with soccer already and the officials and gambling run the NBA.

There you have it.

Well, taking the last 10 Superbowls, 13 teams have made appearances (meaning the other 7 were in for the second or third time). Teams like the Patriots, Giants, Colts, and recently the Seahawks have consistently good teams while the Jaguars, Raiders, Browns and Bills are perennial losers.

The salary cap didn't bring parity, it simply changed how NFL teams are managed.

In terms of the big money teams, they don't seem to have any advantage either. Our Cowboys are the most valuable and profitable franchise in the NFL but receive no advantages. The Commanders are third.

I think teams that have advantages are those with relationships. Robert Kraft, Dan Rooney, if there's something affecting the competitive balance is their relationships with the NFL commissioner and other insiders. JMHO.

Parity doesn't mean all teams will be 8-8, and it doesn't mean they will all enjoy equal levels of success. What it means is they all have a level playing field, which they do.

I think with the rules on pass interference and the vague rules on what is a catch makes it easy for the outcome of games to be manipulated. so yes I don't think the nfl games and outcomes are on the up and up any more.

Was Hardy signed, and the schedule released knowing he would be suspended for that game? I'm not disputing your word, I'm just not quite clear on the sequence of events.

so you actually think the Patriots first super win right after 911 was just coincidence - THE PATRIOTS - I mean give me a break

would not surprise me to Steelers an Cowboy in Super Bowl 50

with the Cowboys winning

being America's team

so yes IMO the SB has been rigged for years
