I missed the first quarter of the game. Did something happen to point Free's arrow down that I don't know about?

He had a couple plays where his guy beat him, one for a sack/fumble. He also had a holding call, but the network didnt replay that play (or McQuistans supposed hold)

He looked alot better after the sack play however. He wasnt awful, he just didnt play as well as he did the rest of the preseason.

I'm pretty sure Davis has been getting reps at LT unless all of those training camp reports are outright lies.

And how has Doug Free been trusted to do more? I'm pretty sure's never been on the field with the first team.

Davis stopped getting reps (and it was only a few to begin with) after about he first week of camp.

Did Stanback do anything?
Yeah, he bobbled a kickoff into the endzone and had it go out of bounds for a touchback. He played as if he knew he was already among the cuts and had no chance to change the coaches minds.

Disappointing.

Free looked good yesterday.

Yeah, he got beat once. By a pretty decent pass rusher who a lot of the people were begging for in the draft a couple years ago, Brian Robinson.

Everyone gets beat occasionally. Walter Jones gets beat, too.

Other than that, Free has had a solid training camp and absolutely deserves to make this roster. And if he can continue to develop, seriously looks like he could be a starter some day.

Yep, I really don't know what people are thinking, suggesting Free should be axed. Presumably the person who would replace Free on the roster wouldn't give up sacks. As bad as he is, McQuistan's not going anywhere either for the same reason.

Having said that, that was an awful play by Free.

I really liked that Carpenter Kid...not the 1st round bust, the QB Carpenter. I liked how he kept his pose and moved around in the pocket. Stash him on the practice squad.

I also like Manny Johnson. He has something about him. PS

Get rid of Brown forever. Get rid of Stanback forever.

I thought Rudy shown a little something at QB also. Granted it was against backups, which is not the point. The point is, he looked to do what he was supposed to do. He did not look lost.

With Mcgee's knee injury, though I don't know how serious it is. We can't stach either one on the PS, they will be signed. So put McGee on IR, keep Carpenter, then we have them both back for next year.
