Walker: 340# nose tackle from OU and Garland High.
Signed as UDFA by Carolina in 2013 after lackluster college career.
PS & camp body for NE and Baltimore.
Verdict -- he takes up space.

Eubanks: 250# OLB from GA Southern.
Signed as UDFA by Minny in 2013 after lackluster college career.
PS & camp body for Minny and Browns, who released him prior to camp this year.
Originally a Safety prospect at 215#.
Verdict -- takes up too much space for Safety and too slow at this wt for LB; hard to imagine he'll be taking a spot on the PS for long.

Yet again, meh. Don't imagine either one will ever get called up.

If we wanted a space eating 1 Tech on the practice squad, why didn't we sign Ken Bishop?

Because we've seen what he can do and are done with him?

Folks on this board need to Google Occam's Razor.

Some folks don't need Google to know Bishop had 5 tackles in the Green Bay playoff game last year.

Bishop actually regressed from last year. Coaching staff continues to churn the bottom of the roster. In limited playing time David Irving showed more than Bishop. This is coming from someone who had him and Coleman as pet cats.

Surprised we signed someone that big.
Maybe he is a tad quicker than a traditional 340lb guy?

And our staff had seen him day in and day out for several months since. Yet we've moved on. Pretty simple to see.

Another poster mentioned it (unsure if it was in this thread or the Gus Johnson thread) but signing Casey Walker could be to give the OL a look for an upcoming opponent in practice.

I would love to believe that watching the run defense look awful for three straight weeks has opened the eyes of the defensive staff and front office that a two down 1tech actually does matter. I would love to believe that they realize you can't get to a Nickel package featuring the Hardy Boys without a) stopping the run on 1st and 2nd or b) having an offense that gives you a lead and can score points (see an offense with a healthy Romo and Dez). The option b isn't a reality until the two stars are back.

I in no way think Walker is some savior or anything more than a potential 53rd best player on the team. But, I do hope getting someone his size marks a potential change in philosophy regarding the 1tech.

Speaking on the 2, did Coleman or Bishop get picked up by any teams??

I think both are still on the street. Don't think they're on any teams active roster or PS.

We obviously over value our players then. 2 DT's that are young cant get claimed?

Not sure if the staff and front office overvalued Bishop and Coleman. Fans I believe overvalued them. One was a 7th round pick (Bishop) and the other was undrafted (Coleman). The League showed in their respective draft that these two weren't very high on their lists of wanted players. So a year later, I'm not surprised that they aren't on a roster.

I think both should be on a PS or can be in the 50's in terms of talent on some team's roster. However, both only played last season because the DL in Dallas was deficient in the talent department. Remember, that defense last season was supposed to be one of the worst all-time. They played for that unit. They may be JAGs and most likely are...

Probably moreso so there is a widebody that they can practice against. Our current personnel are more tweeners and cannot simulate what we will be facing in bigger NTs like Hankins (320 plus), Rubin (320 plus) and Knighton (350 plus).

They may be using the practice squad for tactical purposes to simulate types of players etc. than development. Especially in areas where they feel comfortable with the depth on the active roster.

Sometimes it can serve that purpose. Ideally, you probably want both phases, but there are some fluid spots and it is easy to tell with all the fluctuations.

Agreed. This is for practice purposes only, IMO.
