If we get Copper back, will we have to listen to every announcer call him Cooper every single game again? I mean can these people not read the back of his freakin' jersey? :(

Who cares! We need help ASAP.

Jerry Jones said last night that he will not bring in a WR that hasn't worked with Romo before. Not sure if he was bluffing or not but I made came up with two players that could be on the wish list whether or not they played with Romo before.

1) Terrence Copper: Former Cowboy who may not make the team in N.O. because of how well Robert Mechem has played and the pick up of Shockey may make him expendable.

2) Devery Henderson: He could add speed to our WR corp. Has nice size/speed combo. Could be a nice short term answer.

3) Ernest Wilford: Miami looks to cut him.

None of those WR's are any good, thats why they are gonna be cut.

But if we really need 1 of them, i rather take Copper back.

What happened to that guy Ice was looking at? Jack Mehoff from the Meatbeaters? Is he still available?
You just had to go there, didn't you? :D

I went by your club in Santa Barbara a couple of weeks ago, it looked like the lease was up...

I like Furrey but not sure they let him go. Furrey and McDonald are their slot options.

Did I miss something?

Romo has played with Wilford and Henderson before?

And why would these guys be any better than what we have. They weren't good enough to make / stay on our team before, when we needed WR's, so why would they be now. Other than a little more experience. But not that much to make that big of a difference. Other than Copper. I he does have a little something there. But I would not trade for him.

If we can get by the first few games, then I think we will be fine. Depending on the severity of Hurd.

The answer is because, we have 2 WR's out now. :bang2:

I know that. But why will these guys be any better than the WR's NOT injured. Sign them, pay them an entire year's vet pay, only until our 2 injured guys get back in a few weeks or so.

Adam Caplan has speculated the Pats might cut Kelley Washington... there's a WR who's been a bit disappointing, but has an excellent size-speed ratio, and has been a solid special teamer...

Backups try to impress in Saints’ loss to Dolphins

By SHELDON MICKLES
Advocate sportswriter

NEW ORLEANS — Thursday night was the last chance for some members of the New Orleans Saints to make their case for earning roster spots.

Some, such as embattled cornerback Jason David, wide receiver Lance Moore and veteran kicker Martin Gramatica, made good on their opportunities.

Others, such as third-string quarterback Tyler Palko, wide receiver Devery Henderson and rookie kicker Taylor Mehlhaff, didn’t fare so well as the Saints closed the preseason with a 14-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins in the Superdome.

Saints coach Sean Payton said earlier this week that he would likely reduce his roster from 75 players to the regular-season limit of 53 a day in advance of Saturday’s 3 p.m. CDT deadline.

As a result of their play in the losing effort, David, Moore and Gramatica probably slept a little better Thursday night.

David, who lost his starting job two weeks ago, gained some redemption with three tackles and a forced fumble on special teams, then intercepted a pass on defense in the third quarter.

“I had to convince the coaches and my teammates that I’m a good player with a good heart,” said David, who was beaten repeatedly in a 31-27 loss to Houston two weeks ago. “One thing I kind of live by is before there’s a resurrection, there’s a crucifixion, so I just had to go out there and make plays.

“I think it was my time, I was due. I just kept playing hard and just tried to do what I do out there and have fun while I was out there. It’s a boost whenever you make plays, whether it’s in practice or a game.”

Moore, who has been battling Henderson and Terrance Copper for perhaps two roster spots, scored the Saints’ only touchdown on a 2-yard catch from backup quarterback Mark Brunell in the second period to give New Orleans a 10-0 lead after Gramatica drilled a 40-yard field goal in the first quarter.
