Ty Law Likely to Be A Free Agent Soon: Our Next CB??

I'm not saying its going to happen, but he would be a fine veteran addition on a team poised to make a deep run in the playoffs this season!....regardless of what happened with trying to get him last year. I do believe he was released or is to be released by the Jets as well because of cap issues?

But one thing I wouldn't do is break the bank to sign him. Ty's a class act all the way but he's not worth as much as Bledsoe at this point in his career.
The Cowboys do not want to deal with the Postons. Check who his agents are and get back to me.

He was totally free last year and we didn't even take a cursory look. Tell you anything? If not, it should.

I still don't understand why everyone wants to move Henry to nickle cb or FS. He's young and has great size. When he was healthy he was playing lights out. So lets replace him with an aging vet? I give Law his props he played well last year but that's just crazy.

Oh and I guess Law is still going to give us a Parcells discount

Who said we had to replace Henry? What about Terrance Newman, his play has continued to be quite sporadic at times. Also we could but Law at safety, similar to the transition that Buffalo made with Troy Vincent because he's getting up there in years and isn't as good at one on one lockdown coverage. A similar scenario could play out with Ty Law moved to safety as well.

And it cost us the playoffs! Great job!

Yeah......I'm gonna let that statement linger in it's own foolishness for a bit...and then say;

NEWMAN WAS THE BEST COVER CORNER IN THE NFL THIS YEAR!!!!!

That is all.

Well in that case Hostile, I understand. I didn't know anything about this...but if these jokers are anything like Drew Rosenass then i wouldn't want to deal with shifty sports agents either.

A class act that smuggles Ecstasy across the border and runs from the cops in seperate incidents.

Other than that, a total class act.

You may not have said it but someone said move Henry to nickle.....ummm that means replacing him. Futhermore Law has said he didn't want to play safety and also wants to be paid like a cb which means :money:

Leave Henry alone and draft or sign a FS

As evindenced by him starting in the probowl no doubt?:p:

Don't get me wrong he is very good and the skys the limit as he continues to develop, but he's no where close to being the best cover man in the nfl!!!

Yes, trade talk occur all the time. Ty Law for Jacob Rogers? Holy **** - we passed on that? How ******** was THAT? LOL

Its 2006 and we have a FS Hole. Cost us the playoffs in 2005. Fix it BP.

Just because you were wrong about something is no reason to make stuff up. :laugh2:

FS was far down on the list of things that cost Dallas a playoff spot in 2005. How about run defense, lack of pass rush, offensive line and poor offensive play in general before we even get to FS?

The reason he's not in the pro bowl is it's a popularity contest and people look at numbers. Newman didn't have as many ints as the others but he outplayed them in every other category.

Ken Lucas, Panthers, and Terence Newman, Cowboys. Champ Bailey of the Broncos finished in third place, and on sheer ability, plus the memory of what a cornerback used to look like, the Champ was king. But he'd also get into strange walkabouts when he'd seem to lose focus and next thing you knew, there were six points on the board. Nevertheless, Champ was going to be one of my top two until the end of the grading period, when I was checking notes with someone and he said, "Give Newman a more careful look."

Now my last memory of Newman was ducking his head as the Commanders' Chris Cooley ran over him for a TD, but what the heck, fair's fair. So I did a complete workup, as the doctors like to say, and Newman was my highest scorer on pure coverage, although he was not stellar playing the force. But neither was Deion. It happens that way sometimes...you just sort of fall into it, although most selectors would not admit it.

Don't forget questionable play calling and not fully utilizing Bledstuds raw talents as a downfield assassin!

We lost 3 games because of missed FGs, for crying out loud.

I'm not going to say that Beriault is an all-star but I would like to see what mini camp and training camp do to his development. I think he could be a better FS than Keith Davis was(yes, I know that is not saying much).
