Which is he? 3.9 RAS is troubling but you hear insiders raving about him.

Tyler Booker could be first OL off the board

This one might shock some, especially those that think Combine testing is the only thing NFL evaluators care about. There are several teams around the NFL that have Booker rated as their top overall offensive lineman in the class. It’s typical for tackles to rise and guards to fall up the board, so it’s possible that ends up hurting Booker in terms of being the top offensive linemen selected.

If he is, however, I would not be shocked at all. Booker is physical, dominant, and has been extremely productive for three seasons now. The 6-4.5, 321-pound force also has some of the best character in the entire class. This is an A+ person, and a very good football player

He will go in the first round. He is a scheme fit mauling guard. He won't be drafted by teams that run a lot of outside zone. Scratch the 49ers and Dolphins off the list of teams that would draft him.

He is a fit for the Cowboys scheme. I don't think they go O-line at 12. They have enough depth at the position already, there are more pressing needs.

So he's strictly a G......offers no OLine flex?

On tape he's probably an early 3rd round guy for me. That's still a starter generally, so it's not like he can't play. Work ethic and character really do matter though, maybe that bumps him up to mid 2nd. Seeing him mocked top 15 is wild.

On tape he is a legit 1st round pick.

A better way to say, "I just like to hit people."

McShay is saying that Booker had the best interviews at the combine. Probably has the best character in the entire draft and has the best team leadership. He is going very high.

He sounds like another Zack Martin to me.

Lol ok. Find me tape of him being able to pull or block guys at the second level.

He's great in a phone booth, but literally the slowest guy on the field. No amount of character is going to get him out in front of a RB on a sweep or counter. He limits your scheme. You can play to a guy's strengths but the more you have to cover for their deficiencies it limits what you can do.

Have you even bothered to look? Literally, every highlight montage has some snaps of him pulling and blocking at the second level.

Yes, the fact you're going off highlight montages is everything I need to know.

I like Booker, he reminds me a lot of Larry Warford who was a solid player in the NFL for a while. He wasn't a top 15 pick or first rounder.

Booker or Jackson would be day one starters on the offensive line as would Membou.

Lance chose John Simpson as a comp.

Overview

Two-year starter and team captain with elite physical traits. Booker is a downhill run blocker with average explosiveness into first contact, but he utilizes his size and power to overtake defenders in the second phase of the block. He can play too far out over his toes but that’s correctable. Booker is an average athlete in protection but makes up for it with technique and football intelligence to defend against twists. He’s tough, smart and a top leader. The traits, football character and play strength will make him a good starter for a downhill, power-based attack.

Strengths

  • Prototypical size and girth with elite length and massive hands.
  • Upper-body power and hip torque to turn defenders out of the gap.
  • Has a feel for positioning and angles to wall-off blocks in space.
  • Patient and controlled working up to second-level targets.
  • Protects with good posture and smooth tempo in his mirror.
  • Plays with great poise and recognition when twists and blitzes kick off.
  • Able to uncoil lower half and set a sudden anchor in the pocket.

Weaknesses

  • Approaches too many blocks with outside hands.
  • Absorbs rushers instead of consistently punching them.
  • Average foot speed to ride or redirect rushers on his edge.
  • Below-average lateral quickness and range as a run blocker.
  • Needs to run feet under hands for better sustain.
