Tyler Guyton YouTube interview

I expect to see this young man take some strides this year he's six feet seven inches tall and hopefully puts on some of his man weight and strength this year as he is only 23 years old people don't understand that these young offensive linemen need time for their full strength and weight to come on it cannot be forced each individual has a different body makeup and it takes a little time to develop their potential

Poor dude just got here , and the way I've seen some fans, TV experts, guys like Cavanaugh and Broaddus talk about Guyton after just 1 year where the staff was frankly, HIGHLY questionable, especially at Oline coach, on the way out the door, is just ignorant thinking and foolish. He needs time. Now, do I think he might be much better at RT? HECK YEAH. In college he thrived there. Is he better than Steele or can he be? Yep. That would be my plan with him. He's cheaper too. Steele may be trade bait. I never understood all the weird love for the guy. He's not been very good. This shouldn't be a hard thought process. Let Guyton compete for the RT spot.

Expectations were way too high for him last season. The Cowboys threw him to the wolves, he just needs time to develop.
Exactly. Like it or not, like any player, you gotta let the new guy get his lumps, let them learn from experiencing the good and bad. Isn't life in general, like that? Especially if you have children you know you need to let them do this, just like we did growing up. This is no different. Only way to realize ones true self is to turn them loose and see what happens. The one caveat with Guyton is he was poorly handled by the previous line coach and HC. I have little doubt. They were dead men walking and on way out the door. Lame ducks and probably could care less about investing extra teaching to players coming in. I luv this kids attitude and work ethic. I've heard things like he's lazy , this and that, from Broaddus and others where he went to college. I have trouble believing that garbage after listening to this interview, and listening to Duke Manyweather. In fact, Guyton himself hit the ground running last year with training. Kids got a chance to be good for a long time if we give him a fair shot. I expect good things from him.

Listened to the interview. He's got the right mental mindset. Seems like a good kid. He needs 3-4 years to get experience. Id start him at RT. See if we can trade Steele and get our 4th round Pic back.
He does have the right mindset. But he is playing on the left side.

You want to replace Steele then guys like Richards are who you should be looking at.

As Voch Lombardi says, this offseason he will get the NFL "peanut butter" to help lean him out, add muscle etc.

I assume these guys all go on substances in the grey area of the rules. Also if these kids go from eating fast food in college to using team nutritionists it can be another world of difference.

Really excited to see Guytons jump this year. A full off season will do wonders for him. He sounds very excited about the new staff (sees changes already!) and clearly expects big things this year. A lot of good stuff and I loved the entire interview!
I think solari did nothing to improve any of the lineman. They have invested in oline expertise, hopefully they get him on track. I saw him at the hotel in Maryland before the washington game. He looked like a small forward. He can put a lot of muscle on that frame. He's very athletic, has a ton of potential.

I like Guyton and I'm hopeful on him, but to be honest he said all the right things in interviews last year, too. Unfortunately, being a good dude and saying the right things doesn't mean much.

I'm disappointed nobody who covers the team ever told us what was really going on with him last year. Getting benched for a spare like Edoga is pretty alarming.

Every time I hear someone say that stupid "pressure is a privilege" nonsense I harken back to when our beloved QB said that.....and we all know how he handles pressure.....

I’m just hoping he can stay on the field. I know he made mistakes but overall his play was fine for a rookie. It was the nagging injuries (Shoulder, Knee, Ankle) that worries me.

It sounds like another Garrett platitude.

I can just hear that Redheaded Fraud stating that as if he invented it. Probably with a few forced and inauthentic curse words thrown in.
