Is going to shine this year. His instincts in the slot? Ronde 2.0.

Am I the only one not terribly disappointed by Scandrick's injury?

While Scandrick was mostly reliable in the slot, he was never a playmaker. None of our CB's in recent memory have flashed that ballhawking ability. I think Patmon may not be as consistent right away, but he's going to jump routes and make some housecalls.

And he'll bring that same Napoleon complex that #32 brought.

Im pretty upset by Scandricks injury but I admit that we look as deep at this position as we have in awhile.

Patmon, White, and Jones help me breathe a small sigh of relief.

If Claiborne can just be average....

Shoot if Claiborne can just stay healthy.. I'll sat this about him. He seems more mature now. He pretty much said himself he has never watched as much film since his Injury.

Claiborne was on his way to average before he got hurt.

A unit of Carr, Jones, Patmon, Claiborne, and White is nothing to sneeze at with this defensive line.

If everyone stays in scheme, overthrow INTs and tip drill INTs should be a thing this year.

Oh - and don't forget Sean Lee roaming the mid zone. QBs are going to have to try and fit balls in over Sean Lee and between the safeties and corners now...all while trying to not get destroyed by Hardy, Gregory, Crawford, Lawrence, and crew.

Not sure how any fan could not be disappointed in losing a starter
But I do think we have the depth to overcome the loss if the rest can stay healthy
Interested in seeing if the add another vet cb, keep one of the rookies or use the spot got another position
They seem to like what they've seen from the other two guys in camp

You just have to hate these major injuries. O-Scan wasn't crying from the pain; it was because after all the work he's put in, after the teaching and upgrading of the secondary, after the emergence of a bona fide DL, and while anticipating a huge turn-around by the D -- he knew his season was done.

Carr should be able to provide some of O's leadership; glad he's still around.
The other guys can flat play, including Mo (I think his head is now on straight).

So, I'm still looking forward to a great year. This is for sure a team sport, and we have a team.

Pump the brakes. I like Patmon but he isn't Scandrick, not even close. Yet.

People won't like Scandrick because he popped molly, held out, married some crazy chick or whatever, but the fact is he was one of the better slot corners in the league.

This term "ballhawk" gets thrown around a lot, whether it be safety or CB. How many legitimate ballhawks are out there that aren't getting burnt 50% of the time they try and jump routes? A playmaking, ballhawking secondary player thats actually technically sound is the 2nd most elusive player in the NFL outside of a franchise QB.

Give me Scandrick over DeAngelo Hall. Orlando may not be likeable, but the guy is pretty freakishly athletic in pads and can mirror just about anyone you put in the slot in front of him. He has the skins to prove it.

I like Patmon and he's a big pet cat of mine but he has a long way to go. He's not even Scandrick yet, much less Ronde.

If you mean now then i agree, but at his peak Hall was one of the more dangerous corners in the league. Scandrick is solid as a slot corner but he's not reliable as a playmaker, there were moments where he had an interception right in his hands but he can't catch.

I am upset that Scandrick is out for the year. As I am with any player on our team. Even if he was the 53rd guy on the roster. Now upset more it's Scandrick over #53, yes in deed.

But this is offset with the depth of the DB's, but still not happy at all. Time for Patmon to step up. I am now pulling for Tim Scott to replace Heath or McCray. I know they are S's, but I am looking at depth too. As Jones and White will be spending more time at CB now most likely. Time for Mo to step up and prove he can really play, and time for Patmon to take the next step, show he really belongs long term, and not just a 2 to 4 year type guy.

Also with the improved pass rush, it would have made our DB situation if same as last year better. So we should be fine, but still would feel so much better with Scandrick in there.

I think you're underselling Scandrick. He was one of our top defensive players last year despite not being a "playmaker," in the sense that he forced a lot of turnovers.

I like Patmon, but building him up to be "Ronde 2.0" while not being "terribly disappointed" by Scandrick's injury seems like a grass-is-greener mentality.

However, I do think we have the depth to be able to absorb this blow better than others that could have happened. We'll see how it works out.

I like our depth at the position especially if Mo can contribute.

I'm not sure if he is one of the top 3 CBs. White has been terrific this preseason and Jones will definitely be in the top 3 with Carr.
