If Claiborne can just be average....

Agreed. I feel like Claiborne has been labeled as a grabber (rightfully so) because every time a pass goes his way, the yellow flag seems to come out more often than not.

Im pretty upset by Scandricks injury but I admit that we look as deep at this position as we have in awhile.

Patmon, White, and Jones help me breathe a small sigh of relief.

i find myself in the same boat. we can't really replace scandrick - but we do need others to step up.

Is going to shine this year. His instincts in the slot? Ronde 2.0.

Am I the only one not terribly disappointed by Scandrick's injury?

While Scandrick was mostly reliable in the slot, he was never a playmaker. None of our CB's in recent memory have flashed that ballhawking ability. I think Patmon may not be as consistent right away, but he's going to jump routes and make some housecalls.

And he'll bring that same Napoleon complex that #32 brought.

Orlando was our best CB last year. This hurts. However, we have done good with Patmoney and drafting B Jones. Claiborne is the biggest question mark. If the injury was in reverse order, I wouldn't sweat it. We'd have two slot corners that can also play LCB or RCB instead of just Claiborne. I still have a little faith in that guy because of all the positives I've heard this off season. Now let's see it. If he doesn't show up, we'd better get some help real quick.

I am upset that Scandrick is out for the year. As I am with any player on our team. Even if he was the 53rd guy on the roster. Now upset more it's Scandrick over #53, yes in deed.

But this is offset with the depth of the DB's, but still not happy at all. Time for Patmon to step up. I am now pulling for Tim Scott to replace Heath or McCray. I know they are S's, but I am looking at depth too. As Jones and White will be spending more time at CB now most likely. Time for Mo to step up and prove he can really play, and time for Patmon to take the next step, show he really belongs long term, and not just a 2 to 4 year type guy.

Also with the improved pass rush, it would have made our DB situation if same as last year better. So we should be fine, but still would feel so much better with Scandrick in there.

Im a UNC season ticket holder. Tim is interesting b/c of his length. He switched positions at UNC for the sake of the team, but I think Dallas has him at the right spot. FS. I think he is a good PS candidate. Maybe a 53 guy if he can show something in ST coverage units.

the loss of scandrick will hurt I don't think it will derail the season but other players will have to step up big time or it could

I really hope your right, I love OScan, at the end of the day, he was a leader on the defensive side of the ball, hopefully with Lee back and Hardy in place, we see dont see too much of a drop off in leadership. Correct me if I am wrong, and i very well may be, was it Patmon who got absolutely destroyed by Devonte Adams in the playoffs last season? Or was it Moore? Either way, i hope your right, this kid is looking good this camp

Patmon needs to watch his holding and grabbing. It's a fine art of what you can and can't do and the rules are sometimes not the same for all players. He won't get the benefit that some big names have to get an extra grab in. Interested to see more of him in the slot vs outside. His size should make him more useful in the slot , where the taller guys struggle with the quick receivers.

You read my mind. If Patmon wasn't on this team it would be a different story because none of these guys look like they would be able to handle the slot.

Agreed. I think folks are getting a bit ahead of themselves banking on Patmon. I hope they're right but i need to see it.

Oh - and don't forget Sean Lee roaming the mid zone. QBs are going to have to try and fit balls in over Sean Lee and between the safeties and corners now...all while trying to not get destroyed by Hardy, Gregory, Crawford, Lawrence, and crew.

Great point. And if Ro McClain gets healthy and his head on straight for the second half of the season, having two Nickel LBs of Lee and McClain is a very good pair for that spot on passing downs.

I have been a big fan of Patmon since preseason last year. The guy is a player and is just right for the slot.

Would I rather have Scandrick and Patmon? Of course.

But I really do think Patmon is a good player and will be a big part of the secondary this year.

Having Patmon, Jones, and White really mitigates my concerns in losing Scandrick.
