i admit i was pushing for Utah LB Devin Floyd, who went to Jacksonville with the 27th pick,..
i heard that had we not taken Tyler, the Tennessee Titans were poised to snatch him up

and i admit that i wasn't pleased with the Tyler Smith pick either. But he is really making me eat serious crow in being wrong about him.
His power and explosiveness is remarkable.

Dude is so naturally Jethro Bodine country strong !
And to think he hasn't even hit an NFL offseason strengthening program yet.

Down right scary .!! :D
Looks like Lloyd is tearing it up in Jax as well. 2 picks and leads the team in tackles...

Would have been a good pick too but LT is a premium.....so we did do the right thing.

This rookie has all of the tools, but needs to clean up the penalties. You have to like his ability and instincts.
Not really.
Bucs: 1 false start
Bengals: Zero
Giants: 1 false start and 1 holding call that was declined.

Last season, based on penalties per snap played, veteran OT La'el Collins had 1 per game.
- Connor Williams had over 1 per game.
- Randy Gregory had more penalties per snap played than CW or La'el.
- Tyron had seasons of 11 in 15 games and 10 in 13 games.
- The great OT Erik Williams had 2 seasons with 16 penalties.
- Flozell Adams list of career penalties is 3 pages long.

I don't believe he is shooting for Tyron's worst season as "the bar", let alone Connor M that led NFL lineman in penalties last year. How bout we shoot for what Zach Martin does? He had 2 total penalties in 16 games last year. If the kid has a goal of double Z Martin's 2, he can get 2 more the rest of the year. I assume the kid would like to improve, like I posted. He is on pace for about 11 for the year. There were only 2 lineman with more penalties in the entire NFL last year.

On a side note, considering that Tyler weighs ~320, what does Jason Peters weigh?
- Tyler looks like a CB next to him and Biadasz looks like a middle school kid on the other side of Peters...

I think JP is pushing 340+ honestly. Thing is....he's not that fat. Very large man. I'm 6'5 and 240 and he would pile drive me into oblivion.

I’m impressed. Looks like we got our left tackle for the next decade…
