The argument for Tyron is that the toll of all the left side dominated movement affects you. Personally, I can do things twisting to my right that I just can't do going left due to back issues. After years of being on the left side, Tyron even struggled with it some despite having started off as a right tackle.
I think based on the workout video of Steele we saw from a month ago it's expected he will be ready for the regular season and probably earlier, although I highly doubt they risk putting him out there in a preseason gameThe real issue is Steele... will he be ready to play RT at a similar level to pre-injury? If "yes", then leaving Smith at LG makes plenty of sense.
If Steele isn't ready to go, then the OL shuffle begins. Not the end of the world, but concerning. Let's hope Waletzko takes a big step this year
This is a new day and age. Go watch the NBA, truly elite players play 1-5We care because constantly switching his position is going to diminish his effectiveness. We want him to be at his best position and stay there.
Fans care about this stuff a lot more than players do.Weird some fans are so hung up on where he plays and Tyler himself doesn’t care
Add Troy, Emmitt, Moose, Larry Allen....should I go on?Jaylon, Taco, the list goes on of the great players Jerry approved of...
Put your five best out there. That means Tyron at LT until he gets hurt.We care because constantly switching his position is going to diminish his effectiveness. We want him to be at his best position and stay there.
Shhhh!! That doesn't fit their agenda.Dude.
Every single team in the NFL has their Draft failures.
You don't want to give that a nod?
This team drafts pretty well.
Upper echelon, I would say, all given.
Right, probably right now on this very day he's one of the best offensive lineman in the entire NFL and we have clowns who want to get rid of him because of their feelings about his injuries. If he's healthy the only lineman on our team better is Martin and even that you could argue.Yeah has to be his last year. He's 32 and shutdown Nick Bosa in the playoffs 4 months ago, playing a position he never played before.
I don't either. Jerry just likes to talk and at this point in his life, his mind is a little more addled than usual. He said in like late March when all the coaches and team meetings were ongoing. MM was talking about changing the protections at the same time. And since Jerry gets to arbitrarily decide who to trust most for any decision it's hard to see what is going to come out the wash.
I don't think he would countermand MM/Solari. He definitely seems to be buying in to what his whole team is doing. If anything I take from this that Jerry still wants another tackle. Swing tackle is big for him after all. Also means he is not sold on Waletzko.
Come time for extension talks and he'll probably be playing LT. In fact, he most likely will be playing it at some point this season since Tyron hasn't made it through a full season in forever. This is the right attitude, but I suspect it changes after this season....Come time for extension talks (probably after next season) he's going to want to be paid LT money and I cant blame him.
I’m sure he cares more than he lets on. He wants to help the team but it’s also a business and tackles make more than guards. He’s a second year player but as time goes on he’s gonna want to be at tackle because that’s where the money isWeird some fans are so hung up on where he plays and Tyler himself doesn’t care
I want the line to be at its best so I want him at G if Tyron is healthy! We care because constantly switching his position is going to diminish his effectiveness. We want him to be at his best position and stay there.
You never know with this organization. LOL.Switching Steele to LG and Tyron to RT wouldn't make any sense.
