Tyler Smith doesn’t care where he plays

Only in Jerry's world.
He said in like late March when all the coaches and team meetings were ongoing. MM was talking about changing the protections at the same time. And since Jerry gets to arbitrarily decide who to trust most for any decision it's hard to see what is going to come out the wash.

I don't think he would countermand MM/Solari. He definitely seems to be buying in to what his whole team is doing. If anything I take from this that Jerry still wants another tackle. Swing tackle is big for him after all. Also means he is not sold on Waletzko.

I just love this kid. So glad we have him

Man, I not only love his attitude, I like that he cab legitimately play both positions.

Pretty sure he could go RG and RT ttoo...can prob play center.

At this point in time, Tyron Smith has entered the territory of being a progress stopper. This needs to be Tyron Smith's last year----he's become the next Tyrone Crawford.

I love his mindset, just dominate the man in front of you. What we want is our best five out there. It would be great if Tyron could turn back the clock and give us a full season with Tyler on the inside.
Since Tyron hasn't player a full season since 2015, that would be wishful thinking

The fact he tweeted this tells us everything.

The coaches/FO decided, and they told him: Your left Guard. Embrace it, kid.

Ergo: the tweet. This isn't hard, people. THINK!

LT is a blue chip piece of the OL. Tyler excelled at the position in his rookie year. Yea, best to keep him there.

A great, unselfish attitude from this young man. And that’s great for the team. Play him at left guard so you can get your Best 5 on the field at their best position. Forget the juggling act where you have three guys playing out of position.

This is the right attitude, but I suspect it changes after this season....Come time for extension talks (probably after next season) he's going to want to be paid LT money and I cant blame him.

Actually, I think Dallas is on to something regarding OL versatility, and not just because of Tyron.
In today’s game, you are going to have multiple injuries throughout the season on the OL. They may not be season ending injuries like Steele had last year, but a quarter, a half, a month or two, etc. It happens up and down the OL, and it’s almost impossible to have an excellent backup at every position.

So, if you are a better offense getting your best five on the field, then versatility and moving a guy from guard to tackle, tackle to guard, guard to center is not a bad thing, and it’s not going to mess a guy up when you keep most of them on the same side. If Tyler can play left guard and left tackle, what’s wrong with that? Tyron has played right and left tackle, so let him. When healthy, he’s better than most backups at either position. If your swing tackle is significantly better than your backup guard or your backup guard is also out, then move Tyler to LG and your swing tackle to LT.

I also don't really care where he plays.....the problem is who plays LT then? Or how the rest of the line shakes up. Results in moving more people around. I guarantee if he does start at LG, it will be temporarily. He will wind up at LT very quickly.

The longer list is the outstanding players on the current team.
SO he is getting better at being ignored?

Considering what happened in the past?

I love the company men who genuflect over everything Jethro does
