Better enjoy him while we got him. He will demand top money. Likely hold out in 2025. Maybe need to look at extending him now. Jerry needs to get ahead on this one
Absolutely. The man is an absolute stud at guard and tackle. We need him for the long haul.

My favorite part about this is that people blame Jerry for not signing players before the player reaches top dollar. It's almost like the player understands that he is better off waiting to sign a contract until he is worth top dollar. It's almost like it takes both sides to get a contract done. But no it's Jerry's fault for not signing guys to a long term contract before they reach top dollar value.

What in the recent history of this team suggests to you that that is even an option. We'll fifth-year option him and sign him during the fifth year, possibly with him holding out like Lamb did and like Parsons will do next year if we can't reach a deal before camp.

Once we get ahead they end up getting injured.

If Guyton pisses all over himself, and he's playing LT - better believe that's a hold out situation.

LT = Paid

..yep, sign the guy now. I see him as another Tyron Smith.

Natural good player.

Why do people always think the player will sign an extension early?

Why wouldn't he wait and get every dollar he can later as salaries inevitably increase?

I suspect their idea is to sign him at guard money by playing him there. Wont work. He is a capable LT.

I dunno, maybe if they wait long enough they can get the price even higher so it’s easier to claim they can’t afford other teams’ free agents….players they have no interest in because they don’t watch film or have the ability to properly assess what they are looking at (Jerry playing OL at Ark 600 years ago notwithstanding).

Who actually does what an actual GM does in Dallas? McClay? So what then…..do they listen to everything he says or do they reject things based on numbers and players they never heard of, as opposed to guys they have seen in the locker room and want to be part of the family?

Sorry I’m just extra pissy today for some reason lol.

Nah Jerry will wait until the last second, let it become a distraction/make headlines, and then give in to everything the player wants because it’s too late and there’s no other choice after the market has already been set by others.
