As he was thoroughly dominated by one of the greatest D-linemen to ever play the game in Aaron Donald giving up two sacks in the first half and being called for holding as well but I will say this he finished strong and he didn't get his name called in the second half which was a good sign but there isn't anyone in the league better to learn from in Donald and Smith won't see anyone of his caliber the rest of the season. This kid is playing solid and is only going to get better.

Yeah. I only got to see the highlights, but it didn't surprise me. It was a very good learning experience for him. But the dude is a rookie and playing way beyond my expectations. I like him more than the Giants pick of Evan Neal.

Yes, yes he did but, it wasn't that bad. Now he knows what its like and has that experience.

Sometime that is the best teacher.

Another guy who is quietly producing is Tyler Biasdaz, 0 penalties in the game and gave up no sacks.
I've said that Biasdaz is serviceable meaning he doesn't make mistakes but is nowhere near the power, strength, or dominating force that Frederick was actually many times he gets overwhelmed and pushed back into the backfield i.e. yesterday when rush threw over the middle to Lamb. Go watch that play again and you'll be like *** Biadasz!!!

Yeah compared to Frederick not many would stack up well. Overall Biadasz is doing a good job, and while we can point to 1 or 2 plays his overall performance has been solid for the Cowboys. Last season he was getting worked over pretty good, I see improvement in his play from last season thus far.

Against Donald he played too high,Donald is freakishly strong and he will win 100% of the time.Smith got away with it vs weaker DEs but not against Donald.
I think it helped him to talk to Peters , probably Peters would have advised kickout faster and get square. Once he did that he was not high and could handle Donald probably

That school lesson was Kellen Moores fault. No one with a clear mind lets a Rookie O-Liner who was set for a Guard Spot and now has to start at LT play 1v1 with AD.
Moore and McCarthy. I was shocked they left Smith on the edge one-on-one with Donald like that.

Need to see it again. But I think it was on GMFB, they mentioned McGovern getting a key block on Pollard's TD run.
Maybe it was posted somewhere in the game thread or another thread.

I wouldn't say is was the key block, but it was a block to keep Donald from pursuing the play. I thought McGovern actually held Donald but it wasn't called so all is good. Pollard hits the hole so fast the offensive linemen don't have to hold their blocks too long. Steele and Martin are turning out to be quite a run blocking force together.

Agreed this was a great game for Tyler to learn. Steel sharpens steel. And we won. His confidence will only get higher

I do vaguely recall Olsen saying Dallas may have got away with one there, as to a holding call. But can't remember if it was the TD run, or another play, maybe Gallup's sideline catch.

Even hall of fame left tackles have been taken to school a time or two in their careers. At this point in Tyler's career, I am not too concerned.

WE ALL GOT SCHOOLED YESTERDAY. This young LT up until yesterday's game has played well and gave us all the impression that he was a great steal in the draft and that Smith might as will put in his retirement papers, BUT after witnessing yesterdays sh^t show we all need to slam on the brakes and hope Smith can return in time for a nice run at the playoffs!

Which was what I wanted to see.

I mentioned that in the game chat that I wanted to see how he responded to his butt whooping and he did so very well.

I think he got a better lesson and advice from Jason Peters, as he told him a few things. TS73 adjusted well to it.
So between both he learned some good stuff.

Nate Newton was talking about this on a post game show. Said the kid is smart, listened, and has a short memory of those negative plays. Learned and will be better for it..
Pretty cool that Tyler can learn from Peters as well as Tyron.

Tyler seems very coachable and eager to learn. He WANTS to be great, and I think this organization was lacking in players with that attitude.
