Twitter: Tyler Smith has new agents

You probably one of those guys that believe Dak and CeeDee weren’t getting their extensions. Be you dude.
I don’t believe Jerry drags out negotiations for additional attention. He and his ultimately unsuccessful front office simply are no good at player contract negotiations. Anyone can get a deal done by finally acquiescing to an agent’s demands. Jerry Jones has no sense of urgency and little sense in general.

You pay Smith. 23 years old, All-Pro, no injuries, no weaknesses in his game. If you guarantee him 3 years of top dollar salary, there's minimal risk that you end up regretting that contract.
Smith is a lock. Bland is very likely. The rest are wait-and-see...
Don't sign Micah and we save money and make this happen
Smith and Bland for sure. Ferguson can be replaced if he asks for too much. Pickens is auditioning for another team, we let him walk and hopefully he has a nice enough season to warrant a higher comp pick.
Most likely, about a 80% probability, I think.

However:

So in the 2025 season, Ferguson ends up breaking the NFL record for most receptions in a season by a TE. Many compare him to Jay Novacek and his meteoric rise in 1990, his 6th season.

Meanwhile, just before the season starts, we learn that Tyler Smith is being suspended for six games for enhancement drugs. Upon returning, he's just not the same guy.

My apologies to Tyler, the probability of such events are very small to be sure.

However, improbable doesn't equal impossible. I gave you the example of Jay's career and examples of Pro Bowl level players suddenly getting suspended do exist.

One season can change a lot, I'm just not ready to make these decisions conclusively.

Tyler hasn’t done anything off the field or on the field to warrant any character concerns. He’s quietly done his job and been very effective. At least if there is something out there on Tyler I’ve never heard it. He’s an all pro that keeps his mouth shut. How many times have we said that about a Cowboys’ player?

I’m a big fan of Ferguson but I don’t think he’ll be Jay Novacek. I’d be disappointed if Ferguson walked but we’d recover.

But your point overall is good. A year is a long time in an nfl life. Things can change. Tyler is about as safe a bet as they come. Same with Bland. They both have stayed in the news for the right reasons and stayed away from the news for the wrong reasons. I would like to lock up Smith and Bland and then see what happens with everyone else. I’m not 100% sure I want to dump big money into Pickens yet. Let’s see how he handles some adversity with the Cowboys.

Obviously France, Panos are well known and are good at what they do.

Curious on what makes a player switch from their original agent. Do they think the 1st agent just can't deliver on the big new deal, or do they just want a cutthroat agent? Clearly, agents are still needed but feels like with the NFL printing money the framework is there for the top players.
Top 5-8 guard? Reset the market.
Top 5-8 WR? Reset the market.
etc...
