FEATURED Tyler Smith Is Out 4-6 Weeks

Most fanbases whose team lost their best offensive lineman for a month right before the season opener would be in the “woe is me” club. It’s not insignificant.
Most good teams would be in the “next man up” club, we will see.

I've been saying since cutdown day this team was screwed. Literally having one interior player to cover 3 positions was dumb.....and knowing you already had 2 interior players hurt....looks even dumber now.

But hell no....We had to keep 6 safeties instead....6 WRs....6 edges. This roster construction is a complete mess this year.

Short on CBs...Actually only have 3 guys that you can trust.
Short @ RB, QB

Not sure who is in charge of the actual 53 anymore....but this is an inexcusably mess
You’ll be the NOWHERE MAN in 8 weeks.

How expensive we talking?
The NFL has routinely fined head coaches and their teams for violating injury report accuracy rules, such as when Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers were fined a combined $100,000 in 2019, Arthur Smith and the Atlanta Falcons were fined $100,000 in 2023, and Matt Patricia and the Detroit Lions faced penalties in 2019.

Yo, this isn't an injury that even happened during meaningful games. It didn't just happen; it's been an issue for some time, and the team just decided......Also, where are people looking for a pity party or expressing sadness? Your post makes next to no sense
Read the entire thread, and if you still lack comprehension, get back with me. When half the people on here are throwin shade on the “culture” because Tyler got hurt and is out a few weeks, it makes complete sense.

Chump change for these people, but it still hurts. Why even lie about this injury? Avoid PUP rules?

wow, you really have an inflated opinion of your intellect, don't you?

Just because Bass has good numbers doesn't mean Hoffman didn't have better and Hoffman was picked up by another team could possibly start I think they're stupid for not keeping both you get that OK buddy Mister buddy buddy somehow you thought it was going to stay here tonight and just say OK you're right I'm wrong i'm going to walk back into the shadows Nope I'm right hoffman was a great player last year at both center and guard not just guard he was our best backup center we had..
I liked Hoffman too, but the Cowboys signed Matt Hennessy in the off-season, and honestly Hennessy was also a C/G and had better stats than Hoffman. Sadly, Hennessy got hurt in OTAs and is out for the season.

And I, for one, welcome our new gambling overlords.

thankfully we have a capable backup in Bass,if it were Guyton we are royally screwed.
I‘m worried more about the trickle down effect it might have on Guyton, who has to find his footing as a starting left tackle - it would sure help having Smith next to him to begin the season.

He likely did next to nothing during TC, and did the team really think it would heal on its own? To require surgery this late? Management malpractice

This team is weird with injuries lol… so frustrating that our best OL is unavailable for at least 4 weeks. Wouldn’t surprise me if he needs to “ramp up” and we don’t see him for 8-10 weeks in reality.

They better be scouring the PS rosters and grab the best, most versatile interior OL out there to backup Bass. If he goes down, we are in serious trouble.

If he stays healthy, I think Bass can hold his own. Hoping for the best

I think the knock on Hoffman was how he graded out.

Overall Grade: 56.0 (34th out of 40 qualified centers)
Snaps Played: 475 offensive snaps pff.com
I didn't agree with that PFF rating at all considering the 475 offensive snaps played, Brock Hoffman only allowed 12 total pressures which he surrendered in 2025 which consisted of 7 hurries, 4 quarterback hits, only 1 sack with 2 penalties.

Compare Hoffman to Cooper Beebe's performance in 2025 which PFF rated way much higher:

Cooper Beebe pff grade 2025

Dallas Cowboys center earned an overall Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade of 67.9 for the 2025 NFL season. [1] (https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/cooper-beebe/99434)2025 PFF Breakdown

Overall Grade: 67.9 (16th out of 40 qualified centers)

Run Blocking Grade: 68.4 (14th out of 40 qualified centers)

Pass Blocking Grade: 63.7 (21st out of 40 qualified centers)

Offensive Snaps: 767 [1] (https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/cooper-beebe/99434)

Pass Protection Stats:

Total Pressures Allowed: 16
Sacks Allowed: 1
Hits Allowed: 3
Penalties: 1 [1] (https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/cooper-beebe/99434)

As one can see, Brock Hoffman's stats were not much different than Cooper Beebe's, yet Beebe got rated way much higher.

I just laugh at the fools running this team.

Maybe you ought to read before that Maybe you've never had surgery like this before but I don't care how much arthritis they try to clean up around your tendonitis it it just keeps coming back You've been sold a Billy Goods and that's OK I really really don't think you've been hearing what was really going on with his knee the last two years It really bothered him last year he had surgery but it doesn't mean he's over that surgery does it tendonitis just doesn't get resolved you have to manage it But apparently you've never been a athlete you never played organized sports because I have it at 56 years old I still participate in what we call extreme sports I surf I wakeboard I snowboard.. Some days I feel great other days I can barely move my damn arm above my head for no damn reason other than I have tendonitis that comes and goes and you can buy what they're selling you but tell me where he got the thumb injury that suddenly needed surgery one week before the season started when he didn't participate in anything..lol

Hey I'm speaking from experience I did play high school football and no my name wasn't Al Bundy But before that I played soccer in 7th grade and 8th grade I swam in 4th grade I wrestled in 4th grade and I'm still participating again in the extreme sports and I can promise you I know what tendonitis and arthritis feels like some days you feel great and other days you can barely have strength to pick up a damn cup of coffee...

Good thing for me is I don't have a bunch of coats of staff in the front office a lie for me and say I had thumb surgery to cover up the fact that this is gonna go on for the rest of his career just like Tyron Smith needed so many days off and games off in order to manage the rest of his career It was the same damn things and already we're seeing it from Tyler and if you don't believe me that's OK go ahead call me a liar and let me know when he's back from his alleged thumb injury And then about 10 weeks from now let me know how that thumb injury comes back again and they'll call it something else..
Thanks for sharing your athletic resume. Any stats from 4th grade wrestling?
Please stop referring to surfing, wakeboarding and snowboarding as extreme sports, they aren’t and it just sounds absurd.

Clean-ups are just that and they are easy to recover from . I had one done and was back skiing at 4 weeks. They have nothing to do with tendonitis. Yes arthritis can develop in the joint but that doesn’t happen instantly, it takes years.
