What if Tyler Smith is actually a good-great LT. We have a young kid that has shown talent, work ethic and good character at 21 years old to hold down the LT spot for the next 10+ years. He’s going to make rookie mistakes but what if he actually improves each week and turns into a dominating LT just like everybody started to predict about LG as they saw him play more and more LG in the preseason. Suck on that you negative Nancys. :)

The word is they drafted him to play LT in the future so maybe the future is now.

The thing we are ignoring a little bit is if Smith goes to LT then McGovern plays LG. He didn't exactly light the place on fire last year and he has looked fairly ordinary in preseason too. I actually think he is better at RG. I wish Biadsz could move to LG and be effective there because Farniok can get the job done a C.

Are you willing to live with his growing pains this year?
Holding penalties?
Dak getting blindsided and possibly injured ?
You gotta look at both the downside as well as the upside of this decision.

Every great player started as a rookie. Don't expect Tyrone to be back. His body told him to hang up his cleats. Tyler WILL replace him & hands down, give 110% on taking over. Changing of the guard is a Dallas tradition. See Romo/Prescott.

Sadly some fans thought the FO wasn't prepared, oh yes they were.

Tyler Smith may eventually be a good LT but he’s not ready yet and will go through a lot of growing pains this season, assuming he’s the starter. Having to throw him in this early at that position could lead to a nightmare, especially considering he’s been playing LG most of training camp and he currently has a bad ankle.

What happened that made you feel the need for a call out thread?

If we don’t sign a vet we might as well put Smith there.

I was advocating for that last night in the chat in fact.

I predicted a low scoring game
Bucs 17
Cowboys 13
I think the Bucs have the better ability to adjust based on Brady's knowledge and coaching.
Besides, we've shown over the past few years that we simply don't do well when our offensive line is under siege or some of our starters are injured.
But we shall see.
I think people need to prepare for the remote possibility that Tom Brady can still get the ball to his receivers faster than our defense can get to him.

The dude already has an ankle injury and he hasn't played a real down in a real NFL game so I wouldn't put all your eggs in one basket!

$45 million dollar QB is doomed relying on this guy. He's clearly not ready.

A reminder that not even Tyron started his Rookie season at LT. Damn important position and apparently Stephen Jones is the only one who doesn’t realize it.
