Tyler Smith should be the LT for the Next Decade

This was Tyron’s last chance. Put Tyler out there tomorrow at LT and never move him. He has yet to practice at the position, so what? That doesn’t automatically make Steele or whatever other reserve a better option. Tyler did it all through college, he knows the position and is best equipped to take over there. You took a LT in the first round, time to get your money’s worth.

When Tyron comes back he will be the pro bowl RT. You pay him too much to be a guard, and if he objects, you tell him he’s too big of a risk to stake the season on him every year. Tyler should be prepped as soon as possible to be Dak’s blindside. If the Bucs game doesn’t go well, so what? This isn’t just for this year. Like Steele would have done better anyway.

Should we really trust an Eagles fan to tell us what our best option is?

25 years ago that would have had a different ring to it. But since then? Yeah an Eagles fan can tell you what a well built Oline looks like.

I don't know about the next decade, but if the news on Tyron is as reported then get Tyler out there now. What's the other option? Josh Ball?

Looking like Tyler Smith and McGovern on the left side - God help us - and don't ask me who backs them up.

Didn't mean that you don't know what one looks like. Only that you're an Eagles fan, so you don't exactly want what's best for us, do you?

If Stephen and Jerry do not open their wallet, there could be no other choice.

This is a difficult problem to be facing. Tyler Smith has shown that his elite traits are translating to the NFL so far is preseason play. Some of the tape he is putting out at left guard is outstanding and I believe he projects as a potential all-pro over the course of his career if he stays put there.

Do you risk his development by putting him outside where his deficiencies (poor technique and propensity to hold) are likely to be highlighted? I don't know the answer to that question but I do know this: If the front office does not go out and get a veteran stop-gap to play left tackle, their hand is forced in moving Tyler Smith there. Decisions need to be made.

TS, CM, and TB all lined up next to each other is a good way to get your QB hurt. They need to use some of that cap space now, if nothing else, to protect their $160m investment.

I know he may not like it but Zack needs to be moved to left tackle. McGovern is a better right guard then left guard while Smith can develop as the left guard.
