Ideally you'd love to keep Tyron, have Steele and Tyler Smith as well.

But the cap situation we are in, it might mean either letting Steele walk as a RFA or cutting Tyron. If Tyler and Steele are your starting OTs next year, you can't have a guy sitting the bench with a 7 digit cap hit.

Going to be interesting to see what the Jones boys come up with here. A new OL coach may have some say in the matter too.

Bosa was for the most part a non factor/nothing burger in that game. The issue wasn't controlling him, it was controlling their Linebackers.

Credit to Tyler and the front office. Great future ahead of him.

It's was you, me and XWalker who were are our own island with him in the pre-draft process, everyone else thought is was a huge project.
Yes we fought off lots of our draft zone brothers. I did not really follow any players in college football this season. My favorite players are either staying in school or are true sophomores. Who are a few of your pets cats for the Cowboys?

Little less than 10m now. But they likely will restructure to save about 6m and move a little dead money into 2024. With Steele not a sure thing to be ready to start the season I think you keep Smith as insurance.

Has Steele had his surgery yet?

Ball has under achieved Waletzco coming off shoulder surgery for a cap friendly deal I bring Peters back one more year. Your going to be breaking in a new OLine coach next season nice to have Peters & 77 around .

And while I’m on topic spending Jerry’s hard earned cash I definitely bring 66 back after all the time and effort to develop him into a starting NFL guard opposite Martin .

Starting my draft prep soon, looking at our roster first and what is needed.

That’s why this game by Dak and Kellen were awful. We had plenty of time to hit deep stuff but they didn’t even try. The Oline did well…..

I would love to trade Tyron and actually get something for him. I think he is still a quality tackle in this league and MANY teams would benefit from having him.

In our cap situation, i just don't think we can keep him.

Steele and Smith are very nice young Ts. Pretty amazing how they rebuilt that T spot.

Looking forward to your thoughts. Who you go today? I hate San Francisco and Philadelphia.
My wife is from Philly, here it from her relatives all the time. Not cause of that, but think 49ers win a close one today. Think they can take away Philly's ground game. Unless they beat those corners down the field, think the 49ers defense will give them problems. Always do worry about a rookie QB on the road.

I didn't really participate much in the predraft last year, thinking i will be more active in certain positions this year.

Admittedly, i was a little leary of him based on what Broadus said about him prior to us taking him. This is just another reason why i take everything he says with a HUGE grain of salt.

Once we took him and i actually saw him, i see what they were doing. They wanted a physical, nasty SOB for the G spot. I was less confident in his ability to play tackle at a high level but thought he had ALL Pro ceiling at G.

He proved me wrong and I want him to stay at T now.

What do you mean develop him? He solidified the left side working with TB & Tyler. Most of the big running plays this year came behind those guys not your RG. When Steele went down, getting outside right became very difficult.

66 is going to get a lot of attention during free agency.

With Tyler on the left and Steele on the right, the Cowboys will have two of the best run blockers at OT in the league. As good as Tyler is, Steele is even better at moving people off the ball. He needs a little work on his pass blocking but he will get there I think.

Tyron is a liability in the run game. He was a great player but injuries have really hurt his run blocking. Where Steele would knock guys off the line, Tyron struggles to get movement. He still has powerful arms which is why he can still pass block but he does not have the same quickness in his feet and legs. They may have to start the season with him at either tackle spot next year but when Steele is ready he is the starting RT and Tyler is the starting left tackle.

Steele is a restricted free agent but there would be stupid not to put a 2nd round tender offer on his. If anyone wants to pick him up the Cowboys have the option to match or let him got for a 2nd round draft pick.

I don't think they re-sign McGovern even though I think he was underrated at LG this year. But if Austin Corbett of the Rams got $8.5 million per year last year, McGovern is going to get that much from someone this year. I don;t think the Cowboys will match that. Don't be surprised if Farniok is playing LG next year. That might not be a bad thing. He started there the beginning of 2022. With another season under his belt maybe he turns out to be the guy guy McGovern was this year.

It's pretty insane we went from other franchise LT to another to another. I think the worst LT I can remember was Doug Free and he had a good season even.

I thought the talented Kenyon Green from A&M was a better prospect and would fall our way, he was a talent proven this year in Houston, that being said for being what was left and his issues with collecting flags, this turned around nicely. You now have to wonder did we miss on Jalen Pitre S, Draxton Hill S, Tyler Lindenbaum, Devon Lloyd LB, and Kenneth Walker RB, all of whom were available. Smith is still a project but I agree he is heading in the right direction.

Very nice & accurate summary. Tyron hasn't been a powerful run blocker in years. We were lucky he came back & played as well as he did but everyone needs to accept that he isn't elite at this point in his career.

McGovern is likely to get very nice contract offers. Going to put Dallas in a tough spot. If you want a strong front, you'll have to pay to replace him or get very lucky to draft a guy who can come in and keep continuity. Keeping him is the best option unless you just can't make it work financially.
