Looks like the stiffest competition our first round pick faced last season came from these two teams. So how did he do?

I admit I haven't watched all of either of these games but the little of each I have seen makes me glad they're not wanting him to play tackle.

These two games account for 5 of his holding penalties, 3 against Ohio St and 2 against OK. St.

You can definately see the power and strength. At LG, it will hold the pocket and not get pushed back like 52 did last year. But you can also see his footwork is choppy, which leads to balance issues which leads to his arms being out of control, which leads to a lot of hugging (holding). If they can fix his footwork and work on hand placement, he has a real chance to be something. He is big, strong and agile. So they have a good base to work with. Now it's up to him and the coaches to get it right.

Good potential. Good size and strength. Needs coaching to learn NFL techniques. Not an absolute home run but far from a first month bust too. About what you expect to get in a player when drafting in the bottom half of the first round.

Oh for sure man.

A lot of things that he can improve on. Was 21, only a RS Sophomore so still very very coachable.
I think the refinement aspect is way overblown. Look at Dez Bryant; he dominated for a span of 3 years knowing only 3 routes. Dak was compared to Tim Tebow when he entered the ‘16 draft because of his playing style and lack of refinement. He only went on to set an NFL rookie record for consecutive throws without an INT. Tony Romo got by on his athleticism and derring do until 2014 when he truly felt that he had mastered his craft.

A lot goes into it besides technical refinement; physical ability and the right attitude goes a long way.

Yup. Poor technique, footwork, hands, recognition… he is big strong kid, with high athletic traits— but he has a loooooong ways to go before he is dominating competition in the NFL

He is raw and needs coaching....

He dominated Cincinnati who was pretty damn good last year

So a bunch of Insurance guys and a handful of NFL guys
That describes every player who doesn't play in the SEC or the ACC.
