Patrick Mahomes is widely known as the best quarterback in the league so why did choose a different strategy when they traded Hill than the Cowboys when trading Cooper?

They traded Hill and added JuJu, MVS in free agency then drafted Sky Moore in the 1st round and traded for Kadarius Toney during the season.

Those 4 players combined for 156 receptions 2041 yards and 8 touchdowns.

The Cowboys traded Cooper for a 5th rounder and added TY, Turpin and Washington in free agency, drafted Tolbert and Houston (udfa).

Those players combined for 12 receptions for 182 yard and 0 touchdowns.

Dak has his issues but this was a massive failure of the front office.

You can use Massive Failure and Front Office in the same sentence a lot with this Franchise.
Extremely poorly run team.
If not for McClay, this team would be no longer be relevant.

While I understand the point that is trying to be made here, it was a failure to replace.

This isn't exactly accurate. They signed guys to actually play in place of hill. We also signed Gallup, who was horrible but more productive than those listed.

Brown also had an elevated role as a result of the trade and, while not great, did produce for the 5th wr he should be.

TY was a handful of games too.

But if you did that....

94 catches for 1161 and 7 tds.

So, Cowboys failed to replace but these numbers make great memes but not exactly truthful.

Well I'll say it again I love Parsons , but I trade him right now for 2 number 1s
Every year he's going to be a little slower. He's getting dinged up. Some teams have neutralized him already.
I love the guy and I'm a defensive guy at heart. but sometimes if you want to stay on top, you gotta make the hard trades.
We could land the top quarterback in the draft next year.

It’s all about Mahomes and Andy Reid.

The names at WR do not matter. He’s that good.

IMO, he’s the most talented QB of all time and I’ve been saying that for years.
Told you! :p

He’s legit great. He might miss hill I. The Super Bowl. The eagles have great lines. Great lines and two number one receivers. They’re roster is so great , they made hurts a mvp candidate.

This ^^^^^^look no further than the final four playoff teams. The Bengals, Eagles, and 49ers are all loaded with talent on the offensive side ve other than their TE, I'm not any of the Chief skill players who could start for another team. Andy did the same thing with D McNabb.

I love the mental gymnastics of the Dak-haters. Both Dallas and KC lost a pro-bowl-level receiver. KC replaced him with several solid vets and a first-round draft pick. Dallas replaced Cooper JAGs and a third-round draft pick. - And it's Dak's fault - it actually boggles that mind that Dak lives in some of your minds so much. Nothing at all about how Jerry and the FO dropped the ball, nothing about how we were still able to have an effective offense and win a playoff game. Just Dak sucks. Hilarious!!!

I love your out of the box thinking.
I know this front office would never do anything risky like that.
They will play it safe and be happy just getting into the playoffs.
We will never have a great team and will be a consistent one and done team.

It boggles our minds how little about football you understand.

Swap receiving corps with KC, and both teams would still be exactly where they are this week.

The difference comes down to having a QB whose play elevates those around him vs a QB who needs players to elevate his play. Dak is definitely not in the first category. So it comes down to adding pieces. This is where having a GM who can negotiate a contract based on projected team needs to carry such a guy comes in handy. Sadly we have a fan serving as GM so likely arrives at the negotiation wearing a Dak's #1 fan shirt.

Andy and Mahomes are a big reason but let’s not kid ourselves.

Juju is a former Pro Bowler in the prime of his career.
Toney is a first round pick.
MVS speed deep threat who’s solid.
Skyye Moore is a first rounder.
Found Pachego in the 7th round who outproduced Zeke.

This is how you make up for Tyreke Hill. Had they for James Washington and Jalen Tolbert they would’ve been cooked. Simple roster management.

They basically used the exact same strategy the Cowboys did. Move on from your best receiver and go grab overlooked players elsewhere.

The difference is the Cowboys sold low on Cooper who was coming off a season where he was being criticized for not being a team player, and possibly throwing his QB under the bus (no one knows for sure). Cooper was also mid contract of a big money deal. Tyreek Hill on the other hand the Chief sold him at a time where his value was sky high and a team was willing to give up higher level of compensation as he was a better player, but also came with a fresh contract so Miami can pull all the strings as they see fit as far as restructures and just pay structure in general.

JuJu/Toney vs Washington/Hilton/Turpin take your pick....In hindsight, it looks obvious that the Chiefs took the better package there, but go back to last offseason and I'm sure the opinions here would have been pretty split. Honestly, if you flip Juju/Toney to Dallas I'm skeptical it makes much of a difference without the Mahomes effect.

Then you have Skyy Moore vs Tolber....both guys were either 2nd or 3rd round picks....both with pretty disappointing rookie years.

Am I missing something? Seems to me the bigger piece of the puzzle is the Chiefs were looking for a head coach at the right time to land one of the best offensive minds in the league, and saw a QB they loved enough to trade up for.
