I’m cool with PT incentives. If he’s on the field he’s worth the money, period. That’s the issue.

They re-signed two guys and acquired a corner for a 5th round pick.
They also released Zeke and restructured multiple contracts freeing up over $50 million in cap space.

Add to that the players resigned and the trade for a top 10 corner, according to PFF, and most likely another move for a vet WR.....

This is more in the first 3 days of free agency then the team has done in the last half decade of free agency, they are usually on vacation this time of year.

All of these restructurings are about resigning Parsons, Diggs and Lamb. Don't see the Cowboys going for overpriced FAs.
Parsons is not eligible for an extension yet and they have a 5th year option on Lamb so he would not be extended until sometime in 2024.

You could give Diggs an extension now, but it would not kick in until after he completes his rookie contract which includes this year. So his cap hit this year as well as the first year of his extension is going to be considerably low.

In other words, you dont need to free up $20-30 million in cap space THIS YEAR in order to give any of those players extensions. They are going to spend that money, most likely on a vet WR either through trade or free agency.

Tyron could have demanded a four-year deal when he re-signed (note how that is spelled Zone people). He took an eight-year contract with an AAV that is no longer elite and hasn't been for a while. He was loyal to the team and Jerry. Only right that we work with him like this. Ya, it is a business but Tyron put the team first with that long-term deal. Good to see him getting a fair shake in return.

You can be sure that players from other teams see this.

When he is healthy he is still one of the best LTs in the league. But the problem is while he is not really old he has a LOT of mileage on him. His first 10 years he played 130 of 144 games.
ITs been the last three years where there has been the problem. IT is reasonable to hope that he can play a majority of games this coming season. He finished last year healthy.
If Steele comes back ready to go and Tyler shows he has improved, I can see Tyron splitting time there or becoming the swing tackle.

Fowler, Hankins, possibly Peters, maybe Watkins, maybe Schultz, Rush(?) could eat up a chunk. I do think getting a receiver is on the list. Don't know if they would re-sign Hilton. Could be a kicker in there as well. Long snapper. Anthony Brown and Goodwin?

I think the vet WR we are going to get is OBJ..................they really loved him when he came to the star during the season, he went to a Mavs game with the players, Jerry even talked about how much he liked his momma, LOL!!!

That is my guess anyways, we shall see.

I just can't see them paying what it takes to get him. Maybe if they could do a multiyear where the cap hit for his first couple of years is around $5 million to $7 million, but this team doesn't give out big contracts to outside FAs anymore.
