Tyron played RT in college and his rookie season in the NFL...

I think Tyler has always played on the Left (High School, College, NFL).

Peters looked good at RT but I would prefer to limit his snaps until the playoffs.

  • FYI:
    • I did a quick review of the game and counted 3 bad snaps for Josh Ball.
    • That's not good but it's not a Chaz Green level of fail.
    • Fans love to exaggerate.

My guess is that Tyron does not play next week.
- If not, then I think they rotate Peters and somebody (probably Ball) at RT.
Im very skeptical of Ball. He really stuggled heavily in the preseason. I do wonder of Tyler is a better option at RT when Smith is back.

one of those led to a strip sack which we recovered. the very next play he was a revolving door and led to a pressure and subsequent bad throw....this, against Houston. what will Joey Bosa do against him?

yeah, I don't trust Ball.

Unfortunately the Cowboys are heading towards a situation where the OL may be dependent on Tyron's health. Ball is out, that was a bad idea from the start. Peters and Tyler Smith have to cross train at RT for the rest of the season. They have to make it work with the Top 3 OTs...McGovern should continue to be the LG, but they could still rotate him with Peters.
LT Tyron Smith/Peters
LG McGovern/Peters
OC Biadasz
RG Martin
RT Tyler Smith/Peters

Peters looked good at RT but I would prefer not to play him for entire games until the playoffs.

Next week is key because Tyron probably does not play that game.

Best 5 has been best 6 lately, presumably because they don't think Peters can handle a full time load.

5 Tyler, McGovern, Biadasz, Martin, Peters
6 - Ball

How far away from playing is Farniok? If we get a G available, Martin could move out to RT on the stretches where Peters is resting.

I would not want to move Martin out against the Eagles. Premium player at his best position is the recipe for success in run blocking and pass protection

It was Ball on both, but no biggie, fans love to exaggerate according to the OP.
It's obvious that Ball isn't and may never be ready. Put him on the PS until we can draft over him and go with Tyron at LT, Tyler at LG and Jason at RT until Steele is healthy. That's a pretty damned good OL I'd say.

Tyron played RT exclusively in college and played RT his rookie season in the NFL.

Tyler played on the left side in high school, college and the NFL...

I'd be very tempted to put Tyron at RT and leave the rest as it is. Leary of putting Peters there fulltime because of his age and concern for injury. No chance I'd put Ball there. Tyler Smith has been nothing but a left side player so would be difficult to have him flip sides. Plus, if he's the future LT or LG leave him on that side to continue his growth.

I believe 77 should be at LT this week,

Mcgovern -Biadsz -and Petrs use 73 as he swing Tackle,

get this line in shape and ready for th playoffs and keeps healthy tackle option ready for the payoffs. Unless you use 77 as the swing emergency guy and let 73 stays at LT with Peters at right,
I think 77 needs soem real work maybe not full game Sunday but a half.. then hes ready for the eagles.

Then three huge plays. I would move Tyron to RT and leave the other side alone
I doubt if Tyron plays this week.

They'll start Peters but rotate Ball in with him this week.

Once Tyron is back, it would make the most sense to play him at RT.

Even with Steele healthy:
Tyler / Tyron is better than Tyron / Steele in my opinion.

I'm aware of where Tyron has played, but I don't believe the coaches would have him move to RT.
