Tyron Smith back spasms

Back surgeries from some of the best back surgeons work. Worked for me compared to how I was prior to lower back surgery.
From my experience, and I've had two lower disc herniations for many years, the successful ones are far less frequent than the ones that require more surgeries.

He looked mighty good last week

He did look as good as he has all year. One thing though - Michael Bennett is not a speed rusher, and generally, he plays with power. Smith can handle power without issue. Where he has struggled is with guys who threaten him either inside or outside with speed. He's going to get a bunch of that this week with Takk McKinley - it will be interesting to see how well he moves laterally, especially with the report of him having back issues this week.

Oh boy......he's probably ok for now but could this be the seed for issues in other games going forward? Certainly, something to keep an eye on....

Tyron Smith - T - Cowboys
Cowboys LT Tyron Smith missed practice Wednesday with back spasms.

Coach Jason Garrett said he is hopeful Smith can practice Thursday. Back spasms are not a long-term concern, but the Cowboys will likely be cautious considering Smith's injury history. Atlanta's pass rush is anything but fearsome, but they did sack Dak Prescott eight times last season with Smith out of the lineup.

As i suggested 2 years ago. We should have traded him. Now we wont get anything in return anymore

You say previous 9 where stinkers but in the first 5 weeks he was rated as the #2 best pass blocker in the league behind Whitworth . You have a fake narrative that does not fit reality. He struggled pass only in two games (Houston and Washington) and has played top 5 against the run in the 9 other games.

At his current pace he makes 1st team all-pro (he's been best in the league the last 3 games). Even with a little struggle he makes 2nd team all-pro which is hardly a reach (they take the top 5 tackles)

Ah, no I didn't say the previous 9 were stinkers. I said there were 9 previous games. In those 9 games he has had some real stinkers. Definitely not the player he once was.

So now its 2nd all pro? And dropping. LOL

I would think he does NOT make any all pro team.

#2 best blocker in the first five weeks? LOL What laughable ranking system is that? Does that include penalties? So he was better than Martin? Yah right.

There is no narrative. Just the simple truth that Smith is no longer the dominant stud he used to be. Flashes here and there and that's about it. If reality hurts your feewings, that's not my problem.

Back issues never go away. In fact, they get worse as time goes on. Especially his size and playing the position he does.

Yep just flashes even though he's top 5 at a marquee position and will finish in the NFL top 100 (top 5 =/= flashes, top 5= dominate).

The only way he does that is if he completely dominates the 2nd half. But based on his first half performance I think not.

Smith was the #1 tackle in the NFL for about 5 years no question. Simply not that guy anymore. And now he is getting back spasms. Chance are that he will get worse over the 2nd half of the season as injuries take its toll.

You are entitled to your opinion no doubt.
