I know that Tyron Smith will arrive in Canton as one of the best left tackles of his time but damn, he has been a no show more times than I can count over the last 8 seasons. Looking at his career over this time he has missed 4 games so far this season, 5 in 2022, 5 in 2021, 14 in 2020, 3 in 2019, 3 in 2018, 2 in 2017 and 3 in 2016. No one knows what his pain tolerance is etc. but he sure does have a propensity not to play hurt or dinged up.. 39 games missed in the last 7 1/2 seasons. That is a lot of games missed for any teams Hall of Fame left tackle!

Meh….I think part of the decision was that we aren’t in much worse of a place with the loss than we would have been with a win.

Don’t forget how they are smarter than everyone else.

We needed to win the final two anyway, and he probably needed a breather.

Yeah I’m a big Tyron fan, and didn’t have too much of a problem counting on him this year, and he has given us more than many would have thought….but Tyler Smith has to be our LT next season, without question.

Tyron has enough money to quit, or be in a Jason Peters situation from here.

Yeah we knew that before the season started. So making a big deal out of him missing games is something I don't get. We knew it was going to happen this season and it has. If he wasn't ready for Miami then I'm glad he wasn't pushed to play. We need him in the playoffs. At this point he could (and maybe should) sit out the rest of the regular season.

It’s really this simple but I’ll say it again… Terron Armstead who shut down Miami’s left side yesterday has missed more games than Tyron in 2 fewer seasons…. Has never once played a full season… not a one… including a 6 game stretch this year. He received an 84m with 54m guaranteed 2 years ago in FA. Teams would much prefer to have an OT who can play on an island for 12-13 games than one for zero. It’s much easier to compensate four 4 games than 17!

Are we still talking about this?? Give it up, let him walk, we should have better prepared for this in the off season instead of just getting just any one. Being cheap is killing us
I totally agree! Is anyone paying attention as to how well Shaq Leonard is playing for the Eagles? Another player who definitely could have helped us down the stretch!

His lack of availability has hurt us. We’re 2-2 without him this season.
He has hurt us almost every year by not being able to count on him. He’s been one of the highest paid players at his position and when healthy he’s a beast but when he’s not, we have a huge hole to fill and Jerra hasn’t addressed it completely!

Whatever magic 49ers trainers have used on Trent Williams… would like some of that stuff for Tyron Smith

Let's say your analysis is accurate for a moment. So what? It's not like the Cowboys didn't bring him in for a visit. He chose to play with former coach.

And, what does this have to do with Tyron Smith?
