Are we still talking about this?? Give it up, let him walk, we should have better prepared for this in the off season instead of just getting just any one. Being cheap is killing us
He should be our swing tackle.

Semi retirement. Pay him off of snap count.

Find a replacement first that can play anywhere near his level when he's in there. Good luck.
Finding a replacement near his level is why the Cowboys won’t give up on him. When he’s healthy he’s still one of the better LT’s in the league. However, when he’s out with an injury it creates a huge problem. He’s missed 4 games this season which isn’t as many as he’s missed in previous seasons. He’s been missing 5 games on average.

Find a better backup seems to be the bigger problem.

Anytime you have to play a backup at any position there’s going to be a drop off. It’s more noticeable on the OL, especially at LT.

Of course. Quite the pickle. Let one of the 3 best LTs in the game walk because he can't likely give you 17+ games without having anyone that can even come close to filling his shoes, or find someone that can at least get in the way of a pass rusher. Not sure what the FA market looks like this year but seems like drafting his heir this year and signing him for another year seems the smartest course.

We’ll be looking to fill his shoes during the offseason. Tyler Smith could eventually end up filling his shoes. We’ll see what the team decides after this season.

The dude has a back issue. My guess is spondylolisthesis, which is abnormal curvature of the lower spine. Back in the day, if you had it, you would be restricted from being sent to Vietnam, because it's unpredictable and debilitating any time you have an episode.

Our fans are brutal. Take Parsons' roughing penalty for instance... My guess is that stemmed from frustration from our "fans" talking smack. Our fans act like these players are robots: no feelings, no injuries, just go out there and win.. And if you don't, then you're of no worth to the fanbase. At some point, you have to realize that, no matter how well-intended, that sort of thing has an impact on the field...

Just my two cents. Not that anyone cares. I'm just saying. These players are human, at the end of the day. Easy to lose sight of that.

I completely understand the situation, my point is that he has missed a lot of games and it has hurt the Cowboys. Hopefully he will be able to go for the playoffs and we figure out how to win on the road! If not, another off-season of the what-ifs!

I know that Tyron Smith will arrive in Canton as one of the best left tackles of his time but damn, he has been a no show more times than I can count over the last 8 seasons. Looking at his career over this time he has missed 4 games so far this season, 5 in 2022, 5 in 2021, 14 in 2020, 3 in 2019, 3 in 2018, 2 in 2017 and 3 in 2016. No one knows what his pain tolerance is etc. but he sure does have a propensity not to play hurt or dinged up.. 39 games missed in the last 7 1/2 seasons. That is a lot of games missed for any teams Hall of Fame left tackle!
And the major reason we lost. Staff wasn't smart enough to realize that Asim Richards is 10X better than Edoga. I hate this team so much right now.

There are a couple of guys who played high school football on here. I wonder if they can fill in for awhile. I think one played LB too. :D
