Tyron Smith is working with the OL

What if Guyton is just proper posture away from being an All Pro?
He’s a 1st round bust. He can’t block. Many penalties.

In many ways, the pick is worse than Mazi.

A lot of us were pulling for the kid when he was drafted in the 1st.

The lack of NCAA honors was a red flag at the time.

Usually you want All Conf at the minimum. All-American is best.

Cut bait.

Too early to call him a bust. I’ll give him 1 more year first. But it’s not looking good so far.

Unlikely.

He ranked 81 out of 89 last season.

Bust.
More than likely, yes. The fact that his draft status makes it his job to lose is a major cause for concern. He is the likely starter and is capable of derailing the entire season all on his own on any one given play.

We need him to get it together. Now, not next year.

If he replies, it will be with his usual emojis....

One voice that’s been in the ear of Guyton and the rest of the #Cowboys’ offensive line room? Former LT Tyron Smith, who has been a frequent visitor to the Star and was even around today.

"He's been a big help for us as offensive linemen," Guyton said of Smith. "His presence in our room and on the field with us is incredible. There's not really much that you can't learn from a guy like Tyron Smith. He knows everything about football, especially the left tackle position."

One aspect of Smith’s game that Guyton is looking to replicate is his posture.

"His posture is something that I really am trying to take from him," Guyton said. "He tells me that my posture is going to be where my money is at. Posture on contact is everything. If you don't have good posture, you're not going to win the play."

He probably can still play better than Guyton too. ;)

Nice to see one of the GREATEST Cowboys to make his way back home. He should be a real asset for the COWBOYS!

Didn’t watch but a handful of games last season but he did look out of place in the few I did. Now Mazi…..that’s a different animal. One game is all it took to see he wasn’t and would never be a nfl caliber player.

Tyler Guyton has started 21 games his first two seasons and has shown considerable ability and upside when he was not battling injuries.

When did anyone ever say this about Mazi "I Don't Even Like Football" Smith?

As inconsistent as Guyton has been, picking him has been a home run in comparison to the Mazi pick.

Not sure about the home run…

TG ranked almost dead last in pass blocking last season.

Embarrassing for a 1st round pick.

Tyron can’t save the kid.

Dallas also ignored the problem in the draft.

So you never heard of players taking time to develop? It’s not his fault that Dallas drafted him too high and put unreasonable expectations on him. The real question, which you can’t answer, is if he actually will develop.

Barring injuries to starters, tackle play is going to be the thing that dictates whether the offense shines or struggles.
