Agree about Edogo:
- Very good at OG.
- Very bad at OT.

Hoffman played better than I expected.
- He didn't look good in the preseason.

Bass needs a year in an NFL weight room.
Edoga is fine when he is playing in small spaces and does not have to move his feet as much. At tackle his lack of foot quickness gets exposed pretty badly. I hope the coaching staff catches onto that.

Hoffman was fine. You generally can hide lesser players at center.

Bass does a lot of things very well, but the strength is definitley not there yet. I think Dallas found a good one but he will take a few more years to develop into a quality starter.

With a simple reshuffle I think this line can actually be above average as long as Edoga is not at tackle.

Nobody has yet to explain how Tyron was dressed to play last week but did not play. And now, he seems to be more injured than Martin or Biadasz.
I mean, did Tyron get hurt in pre-game warm-ups last week or what?

How did he all of a sudden become the most injured of the 3 when he was dressed to play last week and the other 2 weren't?
Nobody is talking specifically on the extent of Tyron's injury and how or when it happened.
Mind-boggling I tell ya.

Our training staff could be from medieval times. Tyron must not have responded well to the leeching.

Who’s arguing? Proving a voice of reason… a much needed one apparently!
You don't really discuss enough to have a clue of what is needed. You throw around your own appreciation without more than a personal justification and insult...and no, I don't drink but twice a year with the wife. In service, that was a lot different and you couldn't hang...just for your kind of discussion, smart guy.

Sure...reincarnation and raising the # 1 cash crop in Tennessee are apparently both still popular with 'ridgerunners.' Is it?

Myself, I don't believe either one of those...

Who said I know more than a professional coach?

-I posted that Tyler Smith learned last year quickly adapted to LT after training at LG, so he has shown he can switch to LT if needed
-You let me know two weeks is more than 1 day.
-I added to my first statement that Tyler started 18 games at LT last year, so if Tyron were to miss another game, it wouldn't be the worst thing to get Tyler some LT snaps as he's probably the future at LT.
-I'm delusional because I think know more than the coaches apparently, for expanding on my opinion of moving Tyler to LT if Tyron were to miss more time.

Obviously flipping players back and forth isn't ideal, but I would be willing to bet, OH NO DELUSION AGAIN, that Tyler at LT and Bass at LG is a better use of talent than Edoga at LT and Smith at LG.
There is a very old principal at the level of an offensive line: play your five best players. A simple and easy procedure to apply come games.

Fan approval for 'finger nails or shoe polishing' are little more than excuses to toss at other fans.

When ever available, 5 best are Smith, Smith, Biadasz, Martin, and Steele...immediate backups: Interior - Edoga, Bass, Hoffman, Exterior - Waletzko, Richards.

Clearly it’s time to part with Tyron. Tyler smith can play left tackle. He has proven that. He is the lt of the future. Maybe you get a 4th or 5th round pick for Tyron and she’d yourself off his contract. Chuma can play lg. draft a guard next year

Tyron will finish out this season...no movement for him until after the playoffs.

Let's see what we have in Waletzko, Bass, and Price have before end of this season. Grow those three and next season could boil down to getting a top grade offensive lineman.

In the absence of three starters on the offensive line, the Cowboys saw their red zone woes continue and, as head coach Mike McCarthy notes, a "slight overreaction" fueled by the unsettled O-line led to some vertical plays being deleted from the playbook in the desert.

The trio of Chuma Edoga, T.J. Bass and Brock Hoffman got off to a rough start by allowing two sacks on Dak Prescott but improved from there, and ultimately weren't the reason for the loss.

"I think they did a nice job — T.J., Brock and Chuma all stepped up," said Martin. "Chuma has been out there this season in different spots, and Brock and T.J. got their real test. I think they stepped up to the plate and did some really nice things for us."

That's true, but it's also true that there's no comparing solid backup play to what two future Hall of Famers and a Pro Bowl center can do for the Cowboys offense.

Yet we had folks on here thinking we were set at LT with Tyron. Ridiculous.

They won’t release that.

But I explained it earlier in the thread as to why. You must officially dress 8 offensive lineman. If not you can only play with 47 as opposed to 48.

Chuma, Tyler, Hoffman, Bass, Steele, Richards, Harlow made 7. Harlow and Hoffman were the two PS call ups so they could not call up Bostick.

So they were forced to dress Tyron, Biadasz or Martin to complete 8. Only thing I can think of Smiths injury was the least talked about so they could mess the system a little bit. Regardless, Smith, Biadasz or Martin needed to suit up or we would’ve only had 47 actives.

My bad. Yep, I musta missed your earlier post.
Appreciate the explanation.

But still...
The mystery and extent of Tyron's injury looms.

No worries! Didn’t mean that to come off as rude if it did by any means!

Patrik no c walker explains this on a call which can be heard o YouTube I don't know how to post link.

Basically he was a game time decision and it was decided just an hour before kickoff that he couldn't go.

I don't get it. As usual the Cowboys and the way they deal with injuries puzzles me. Last week Tyron dressed for the game. He stalked the sidelines like a pissed off bear who just had his picnic basket stolen from him. Now this week he is still not practicing? Is this a precaution? Are they babying him to prevent further inflammation of the knee?

Is there risk of further damage or is it just discomfort? The disruption on the OL will derail the season. We have seen many teams in the past not reach expectations because they were shuffling their offensive lines every week.

I would understand it if they held Biadasz back a little longer. soft tissue injuries like calves, hamstrings, groins are a reinjury risk. Tyron's knee is what it is. I don't think it is going away or getting better. He may as well play are much as he can for as long as he can. If he can't be 90% and there is someone who can play better then okay sit him till he feels better. But the Cowboys don't have anyone as good as 90% of Tyron.
