Put this man in bubble wrap until the season opener
to be fair, any of our OL can get hurt on any given play.

Most of them don't wear braces. So knee injuries are always a risk.

Maybe not going head to head with Micah would help...

Yeah I know Micah does this to most left tackles but Tyron looked very bad on this play. Just saying.

Here's to hoping Tyron gives us a solid, fully healthy year.

Cowboys LT Tyron Smith on what he’s done this offseason to try to stay healthy: “I’ve been concentrating on the small things, getting the work I need, getting work after practice to stay on track so I can stay healthy on the field.”

Does he ever feel jinxed with his injury history?

“No. I don’t even think that way. It’s a waste of my energy. … Last year was a freak accident. You can’t think too much about that. Just continue moving forward and doing the right things moving forward.”

He has spent to much time in the weight room over the years.

He came into the league with questions about his weight....Now he would make prime years Hulk (Lou Ferrigno) look like a runt.

Tyron Smith has been one of my favorite Cowboys since he was drafted. From 2011-17, he was the best player on this team period. A 5 time first team All Pro is as good as it gets. There’s no question he has HOF talent and is a really good dude on top of that.

But honestly, the injury situation cannot be discounted. He has not played a full season since 2015 and has missed a whopping 45 games in the last 6 seasons. The first ability every NFL player must have is “availability” and he’s obviously struggled there.

And…he’s also shown signs of decline. In his first 6 seasons in the league, he had 15 holding penalties total. He’s averaged having 6 holding penalties per season when he’s played 10 or more games since then. He hasn’t given up a ton of sacks but in the last 2 playoff games against SF he has struggled at times. The Jan 2022 WC game against SF might have been his worst game in his storied career when he gave up 6 pressures, had 2 penalties and 1 sack in the loss.

Don’t misunderstand me- I love Tyron Smith. But if we are honest and take off the fan glasses, there have to be some concerns.

I’m watching some practice reps, Tyron hasn’t looked good. Granted, it’s been going against Micah Parsons, but it’s been tough to watch.

I don’t know if Parsons is set to be All-World, or if Smith is washed up.
Could be both. I hope not.

Hes just too big and too strong for his bones and joints to handle the rigors of football. Not his fault.

Yea there was a lot of people who wanted us to get rid of him and I never get it. His salary is worth the risk.
Lots that wanted him replaced with someone good and reliable. Someone like Tyler Smith.

His salary might be worth it on a year you can contend like this year. But having no quality backups is the problem. You have to assume he is going to get hurt. So who is your starter off the bench? This is where management has failed.

Tyler Smith is your starter.

Yes, it looked bad; but watch it REALLY closely. Tyler Smith tripped him. Got his right leg off the ground right as Parsons was giving him the shove.

Is he implying that he never did these things before during an offseason?

Seven consecutive years of not being able to play an entire season. We need the old Tyron with the durability of the young Tyron. Hopefully, this will be the season.

I’m glad Tyron isn’t passing out any advice on how to stay healthy.

Has missed an average of 6 games a season over the past 7 seasons -- 44 altogether. Almost 3 seasons worth.
9 months I posted a list off all the top OTs in the league who have missed at least 10 games over the past 3 seasons.

There are more who have missed that many than who haven't.
