Exactly. If theres nothing pending, they should have left the contract alone.

not how it works

DAL was already under 5m and still need to sign a few guys, sign entire draft class, add 53 roster guys, sign PS, add for IR players and have a 3-5m insurance fund for the season.

they will need A LOT more just to do all that

Restructures are built into these deals, especially anyone woth guaranteed money left like TSmith, TCrawford and Dez.

Looks like this restructure adds about $1MM of salary cap for each year of his remaining deal.

2017: $15M
2018: $15M
2019: $13M
2020: $11M
2021: $11.5M
2022: $14.5M
2023: $14.6M

I don't know. I would restructure this deal maybe one more time next year. Possibly twice, but that's it.

The team turned $9 million of his $10 million base salary into signing bonus to create the room. Last week the Cowboys reworked the contract of defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford that freed up $4.39 million in room.

Indication of a signing about to happen? Chris Long?

Dont be suprised to see Hardy back in Dallas. Dont see a backup QB being somebody they would need to restructure Tyron for.

Look for them to bring back Ryan Cook now that Bernadeau departed to the Jaguars.

I haven't heard much regarding Hardy. Any rumors about him being close to getting a contract?

I wonder now if we are considering bringing him back.

Looks like they are making space for some smaller deals while signing draft picks and keeping Carr.

Restructures are nothing to fear

It is like using a free 3rd round pick this year and paying it back with a 4th in 2019

You are going to spend the same money either way, this way you get more bang for your buck

We were well under 5m after McClain, Mo, Hanna, Wilber, Thomas, Brown, Thornton

This was planned all along and more will be needed, either re-doing Dez or cutting Carr and Church

Haven't heard any rumors regarding Hardy, not talking to the Cowboys or any team. I wonder why he isn't shopping his services around?

I'm sure he is, but he has no takers. Somebody will pick him up once his market value drops enough.

Where are you getting that number from? Helman said we we're sitting at 7M before this restructure and now we're at 14M

If you believe Fisher and others, it will be when pigs fly.

That's what I'm thinking. You wait until the top quality free agents are signed, and then you do this?

Possibly a big trade where someone is trying to unload a contract they can't afford.
