So, if the line is really performing do you really mess with the chemistry? I get the "appeal" of what a healthy Tyron could bring to the table.... but I'm skeptical at this point in his career.

I mean the perfect scenario would be he subs in when we have large leads and you get a chance to get him up to speed & see where he really is rather than just shuffle the lineup just because.

I get that he is a decorated player and due a lot of respect but I've got to see him look like his dominant self rather than the shell we saw the last few times he took the field.

Simple answer- Yes. Tyron Smith is a first ballot HOFer who still plays at an All Pro level when healthy and a very good level when not fully healthy. No way you don't put him back in.

Not before Pollard fell on his leg and rendered him one-legged. Before that he was killin fools.. and he rushed himself back from that injury twice and was never anywhere near top form for most of the second half of the season. I think a healthy Tyron is the best in the business.. but of late he simply hasn't been healthy enough. But if we have a chance to get that guy for a 5-6 game stretch.. two to end the regular season and then the playoffs I'm taking that chance every time. But again, he has to show it in practice or it's no dice.
No, he just has issues staying healthy. When he's close to 100%, he's still at the top of the totem pole.
Yeah people are way over critical of him and the fact that he called him average 100% means he has no idea what the other left tackles in the NFL are. It's a classic case of somebody being so elite that when they take a step back people just assume their now average but in reality their top end was so high that even with a step back they're still a top five player

Tyron last year with two different teammates crashing into his ankle still graded out as the second best left tackle on PFF and for those that want to pull the whole "pff is a joke" guess what ? The all pro team voted him as the 3rd best left tackle in the entire NFL.......

Both Tyron and Steele got beat handily by San Francisco rushers in the playoff game.

If he is not far more health improved than that version of him than I would probably keep the lineup the same.

If 100% healthy and as Ronnie has said, if it shows in practice, then of course he starts.

Otherwise, no.

Well sure, if you knew he would be at a high level.

It's not that clear cut for me. He had some struggles last year & in the playoffs and was losing more reps than usual during training camp (from what I heard). Hopefully some of that was our defense was better.

I just want them to be careful with the chemistry late in the year. Upset the apple cart and you might not get it righted in time.

LOVE Tyron but how do we justify disrupting the rhythm on oline right before the playoffs?

I still doubt he’s coming back. If he does he probably gets hurt again. If I had to predict, predict he comes back for the final game of the season
You’re good at predicting too so that means a lot. Might be time to update your line there. Upcoming 8 game losing streak I assume

If Tyron is healthy and ready to go— that is absolutely huge for the stretch run.

If the team is winning with a rookie LT (who's playing great) that was drafted to replace the guy that got hurt, why go back to the injured LT?

if he gets hurt you go back to what they have today...this is a Win Win type of situation

Looks like our Turkey day OL will look like this:

LT Tyron Smith
LG Tyler Smith
C Biadasz
RG Zach
RT Steele

:omg:

I highly doubt Tyron Smith will play again before December. That still gives him up to 5 regular season games to prepare for the playoffs. But the Cowboys are not going to endanger Smith or their playoff chances by bringing him back too soon. He may be ready to practice in about 3-4 weeks, but probably needs a couple of weeks of practice to get back into game shape - similar to when the Cowboys signed Peters in September. My guess is he starts practicing after Thanksgiving, and spends a couple of weeks practicing before he gets activated from IR. So a mid-December (December 18th against the Jaguars) makes the most sense to me as his likely return date. That gives him a week to warm up against the Jags before the Cowboys play the Eagles on Christmas Eve. We saw how much better Dak played in his second game back. Hopefully, a warm-up game against the lowly Jaguars will give Smith just what he needs to prepare for the Eagles. He could make it back for the Texans on December 11th, but I think December 18th against Jaguars is more likely.

Whenever Tyron returns it’ll just be a huge boost to an already good group. Really like how this Oline is shaping up. Continue building the continuity and confidence these guys are getting and barring major injuries....this Oline will become a major dominating force that nobody wants to deal with
