I guess the positive on this is they are doing it now not waiting until later in the offseason where the player ends up missing training camp.

Yes. Very glad it's getting done now. Nothing more aggravating than those that wait till May to get something done

Maybe. It could be 6+ months before he's actually healed enough to really hit the weight room. Rotator Cuff injuries can take a long time to heal and sometimes never heal properly. Range of motion can be particularly hard to recover. It's a significant injury with a long rehab. I wish they would have been proactive and shut him down when they realized the playoffs were out of reach.

He took a lot of heat this year, but he played pretty darn well with that 1 arm. As a D-Lineman, you need your arms.

People just don't under how seriously this injury can affect someone. When I tore mine I couldn't lift a pen to do my school work for 3 weeks. The fact that we didn't even hear about it right away and he didn't even miss a game is insane. And I believe he did it in week 2 or 3. Says a lot about the player imo to play through that kind of pain with a brand new contract.

Ironically, in some fans' minds he would have been better off just skipping the season, because they see him as a bust now.
To me, it shows that he is a warrior and that if he can fully recover he is going to be a beast and well worth the contract.

It is insane, why play him when the season was lost and he just signed a juicy new contract. It debatable when to do it. But whatever the answer, him playing the last game of the season was pointless and possibly damaging.

Yes he got hurt so that automatically makes it a bad contract.

He is not a bad player, our entire defensive line would've been much more successful if they could pin their ears back and rush the QB. Sure the contract may look bad right now but he has time and the ability to turn it around.

Why is it a good one? 35 tackles and 5 sacks. Kinda On the low side of average. But typical for our guys once they get paid.
