It is insane, why play him when the season was lost and he just signed a juicy new contract. It debatable when to do it. But whatever the answer, him playing the last game of the season was pointless and possibly damaging.

I agree. When Romo went down the 2nd time they should have shut him down. It would have been in his best interest and the teams.

This surgery is nothing to sneeze at. I hope he will be 100% by training camp and won't be surprised if he isn't. Really wish this would have happened a couple of months ago instead of dreaming we still had a shot at the playoffs.

Why is it a good one? 35 tackles and 5 sacks. Kinda On the low side of average. But typical for our guys once they get paid.

Not really average for a defensive tackle. If I was to guess, that's probably top 10 for his position and I bet he has a ton of pressures as well. There are only a handful of defensive tackles that can get double digit sacks, 5 sacks isn't bad for a one armed man. I would bet, he would have more sacks just like our entire defensive line if they could pin their ears back and rush the quarterback on a regular basis.

Exactly! What do people want? This guy was a warrior this year.

After reading a bit more about his injury, I'll admit playing through that injury for 14 games is very crazy impressive. I had my shoulder completely rebuilt three years ago. It put me down for 6 months, like out of work down. I didn't realize he played since week 2 with it. Although I wish he would've had a double digit sacks to support the paper he signed, Now I could see why he didn't. I'll admit I was wrong on this one. I wish I would've known that, was lost in the mix of everything else I guess.

People just don't under how seriously this injury can affect someone. When I tore mine I couldn't lift a pen to do my school work for 3 weeks. The fact that we didn't even hear about it right away and he didn't even miss a game is insane. And I believe he did it in week 2 or 3. Says a lot about the player imo to play through that kind of pain with a brand new contract.

Three weeks? You got off light. When I tore my RC in '99, I couldn't move my elbow more than 3 inches away from my rib cage in any direction. That's how immobilized my shoulder felt. Unfortunately, I also broke 3 ribs in the same fall, and that pain was so horrendous that I didn't realize the shoulder was injured until six weeks later. Finally had the surgery nine weeks after the original date of injury, and was on the shelf for four more months.

Crawford was talking about his injury the other day to Brad Sham and Babe, and he said he couldn't raise his arm enough to brush his teeth with his normal hand. I can sympathize, but he's gonna find out that the rehab is more frustrating than it is painful. It's a "right-handed" world we live in. I drove a stick-shift... Sort of. My daughter actually did the shifting while I depressed the clutch. The best part, however, was going to the bathroom - especially at night. I had to sleep in the recliner the first month post-surgery, due to the pain sleeping on my back caused. Well, just where is the lever on the lay-z-boy? On the right side, of course. There were times I had to yell across the house and hope someone heard me before I wet myself. Seriously, I was worthless. You've heard the term "right-hand dominant"? Well, I'm "left-hand ********".

It's been 16 years since my surgery, and I never regained full range of motion. Good luck to Crawford in his recovery. I'm sure he'll be back with a vengeance next year.

It was excruciatingly painful. When I tore mine I immediately went down to my knees and it felt like I got shot. My entire arm shoulder down just hurt. I felt like all my strength was gone in that arm. Somewhere around 3 weeks after the tear I was able to regain some movement in the arm. Small stuff like using a fork or writing. Anything too fast or too far up and it would immediately flare up. Being right handed I had to do stuff like brush my teeth lefty, use the restroom, my mom was cutting up any meats I was eating.

My surgery was around 2 months out from injury date. Post surgery it was about the same for me. Sleeping in a chair for 6 weeks. Completely immobilized arm for a month. The only time I moved my arm was when the rehab specialist moved it for me. After about 4 weeks I moved on to gentle movements by myself at the rehab place. Basically doing what the rehab specialist was doing. I think it was around 8 weeks out before I could even use resistance bands. 5 months out I started on light weights ended up with a re-tear.

Ended up having 2 more surgeries on it. Never regained full strength in that shoulder and range of motion is seriously hampered. I can't hold that arm straight up, can't scratch my back over either shoulder and can't even put my arm behind my back in the handcuffed position. Its been 9 years and I still have pain in it. When its cold and moist I have to pop tylenol 3 times a day. Having gone through this personally, I have a lot more respect for Crawford.

Edit: And by the 3 weeks to move it comment, I wasn't talking about lifting at the shoulder. It was about the same as you. My shoulder was still incredibly weak and painful. What I could handle at the 3 week mark was stuff that only required bending the elbow while my arm/elbow was still close to the body. Stuff like using a fork and bringing my head down to meet it lol.

Crawford ended the season with 35 tackles, 5 sacks, and 14 pressures. That puts him right there with Jurrell Casey, Jaye Howard, and Mike Daniels. DTs that had a better year statistically, only Atkins, Short, and Suh topped him.

Anyone disappointed in Crawford this year had odd expectations and he was hardly average. Good player and good signing.

He took a lot of heat this year, but he played pretty darn well with that 1 arm. As a D-Lineman, you need your arms.

Good player. Would be much better if he had a legit player next to him. Without that threat at 1T, teams are easily able to focus on taking Crawford out.

I think he's a good player too. But he should be a DE. He did not put up numbers like the top DL in the league. I'll be adding that info in another post. But it's not his fault that they moved him inside, as undersized as he is. He got paid. But he won't last inside. He'll break down.

I have had rotator cuff surgery in the distant past and was back to work in six weeks. Of course, I wasn't involved in anything that required very great exertion on my shoulder, although I had a job that necessitated constant motion on that shoulder with a somewhat more moderate measure of exertion. If Tyrone is faithful with his rehab as I think he will be, I wouldn't be surprised if he's fully ready to return by TC. He'll have the best of care to his advantage and those around him who know exactly what to do. I'm betting he'll be ready in plenty of time to contribute much more effectively.

Haha yeah. I had a slap tear that came from a dislocation. It hurt. A lot. I couldn't move my arm at all. After surgery I slept sitting up in bed for 8 weeks with shoulder in a sling. I'll never forget the moments when I'd try and turn over in my sleep on that shoulder. Not cool man.

I think right around month 4 i started on the bands. Couldn't afford rehab but my buddy was a PT and gave me a program. Stretches every single day and bands 3x a week. Still took 12 months to get back on weights. 16 or so before I could get "normal" function in the gym with semi normal ROM. I still can't squat because I can't get my arm behind the bar on that side from impingement.

There are definitely varying degrees of RC injuries. If TC was playing with it, it probamly wasn't *that* bad. I think he'll be ready for camp with professional treatment. It just sucks because you know he can't beastmode this offseason in the gym with that. He can do lower body but he'll be rehabbing that shoulder for a while. Especially considering the weights those guys throw around.

His Marinelli name revealed:

On his Cinderella nickname:

Crawford: "It was Cinderella, but it's Cinderella Man. At one time it was Cinderella and then coach Marinelli told me I grew up and I got my slippers, er, my shoes and now I've become Cinderella Man. I was Cinderella for my whole year I was out with my Achilles and it was Cinderella until two games in playing under tackle. So, what, Game Five of last year? ... There's some things in this world that you just won't understand. With Marinelli, there's a bunch of things in this world you won't understand."
