Ali would have used that aggression against him and let him wear himself out. He would have ropa-doped him.

We'll never know, unfortunately.

Foreman certainly was not Mike Tyson. He was big and strong, but..., well you can look at both in some footage and there's a wide chasm between Foreman and Tyson.

Yes I can where Foreman maintained blance and he hit much harder than Tyson. Mike was a lunger leaving his feet. Ali would have killed him just as Douglas did as he side step the wild punches of Tyson and then clocked him and then moved. If someone is dumb enough to stand toe to toe with Tyson they would lose those who beat Tyson did not just stand in front of him they stuck and moved

Those who beat Tyson did so after he was already scrambled and out of his element, due to the **** storm of nonsense being heaped on him by leeches.

Tyson was taught very sound principles of boxing in his early years and was much more than just a lunger. Whatever he became after Cus died and the foolishness took over was not Tyson at his best.

Doesn't matter really, I'm not going to agree.

I agree 100%.

The early Tyson, under the guidance of Cus, was a great boxer.

After Cus died, Tyson lost focus, didn't train as hard, relied too much on the early knockout, and was misled and taken advantage of by scum.

And after he came out of prison, well, he was but a shell of himself.

IMO . . . the early Tyson would've gone toe to toe with Ali.

Sadly, we'll never know.

Yes we will never know but Ali was WAY more skilled as a boxer than Tyson ever was. We will have to agree to disagree.

Put Tyson against Ali in the ring now. Tyson would destroy him.

George Foreman was beating the same guys as Tyson at age 50. He faced Holyfield and took him 12 rds and stood up between rounds the entire fight. Ali would have killed Tyson. Heavy Weight division has been a joke for years.

Here is a good Wiki article on boxing styles:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_styles_and_technique

I agree with the article, I think Mike Tyson was an 'in fighter'. Mike Tyson's style was to use the 'peek-a-Boo' technique to get 'inside' of his opponents and use very powerful uppercuts to defeat an opponent.

Also, I am not saying a Mike Tyson in his prime couldn't defeat an Ali in his prime. What I take issue with is someone claiming that Mike Tyson would 'destroy' Muhammad Ali, who was arguably the greatest boxer of all time.

The main problem Mike Tyson would give Mohammad Ali is Tyson's quickness and at times, it is hard for taller fighters (Ali was 6-3 and Tyson was 5-11) to deal with much smaller opponents.

Also, for those don't think Ali could get into Tyson's head, go look up the "Right Hand Lead" technique that Ali used to drive Foreman absolutely crazy.

I remember watching George Formean on 'The Best Damn Sports Show Period' and he said during the fight, Ali would constantly say, "C'mon George, is that all you got" and Foreman said he kept thinking too himself, "Yep, that's pretty much it" .

Foreman's punching power was legendary. When he would hit punching bags during training, it would leave huge dents and would often have to be replaced after the training session.

I don't see Muhammad Ali being destroyed by any fighter that's ever lived. Beaten? Yes, but not destroyed.

True. It takes 1 mistake and a fight can be over quick.

Ali would beat Tyson, and it might not even be close. The only way I see Tyson beating Ali is landing several of his devastating sluggers in a row to Ali's head early.

Ali was a dancer. He was a master at messing with the minds of opponents before and during the fights. Tyson relied on intimidation, but was mentally weak himself.

Most important of all, Ali was a master of fighting while backing up. He would use his height and reach, and just let Tyson wear himself out while slowly punching him into fatigue over a course of rounds with his quick jabs.

Look at the quality of opponents Ali fought and compare them to the peers of Tyson. It's not even close. Not only that, most people believe Ali was in jail during his prime.

Lesnar vs Shane Carwin will be electric.

I doubt it will be electric. It's like watching two Rhinos charge at each other, there will probably be a loud explosion and a lot of dust but if people are expecting some kind of all out war, it's not going to happen.
