On the positive side, the cowboys have time to go get help and it’s only August.

There's already a thread on this my friend no disrespect intended
This is the only thread I’ve seen on this one. The other one is about Overshown. Had no idea Stephens was injured last night. How disappointing both players were having terrific camps.

They aren't going to go anywhere. They already have McKeon on the roster. Sucks to get the confirmation of the ACL tear, I had already posted earlier that while it sucks, it gives the player a year to recover and also to bulk up some if he is truly going to be a TE.

This is strangely good. Now they can protect him. He wasn't going to make the team, but they like him.
I was thinking the same thing. It was going to be difficult to keep him on the practice squad all season. Now the Cowboys can stash him, get him healthy and ready to roll in 2024.

Man we took a beating last night on the injury front. I don’t remember a game having 2 acl injuries before. Time to move forward. I’m not worried about Stephens as much as Overshown. We need some depth at LB. We’re good with TE. Feel bad for Stephens personally and hope for a speedy recovery.

It’s never good. It’s sets him back a year and there is no guarantee he continues where he left off. More often than not when this happens to a guy like him, he is never heard from again. A ho hum camp next year and some other exciting young TE comes along and he gets cut. At least we have other usable bodies at TE.

Just reported.

Not so awful for him if it isn't a bad injury.
An UDFA rookie getting stashed on IR is a pretty good outcome.

I stand corrected. Members, aka so-called fans, celebrating his injury and spinning it that it's good news as now he can be stashed on the IR for a season. I wonder if Stephens feels as happy about it as these losers.

I'm not surprised....Seattle was taking cheapshots all night....and listening to their game announcers...I would rather eat a cat box than have to listen to that game crew again. Jesus...that was brutal.
Dallas' was just as bad. Kyle Youmans is a walking infomercial, and Isiah Stanback can't speak the English language.

It's just an ACL. Not a big deal long term anymore.

Be wouldn't have made the team, and he would have been scarfed up by another team because fast TEs are hard to come by.

Another player having a good camp and preseason. Had a shot at TE 3 or 4 but wasnt likely to play much. Only silver lining here is it keeps him with the Cowboys even if he wad a bubble player this year.

Sad for him though and wish him a speedy receovery.

If it hadn’t been a real injury, I think they would have still put him on IR. This way they have the youngsters in Ferguson and Hendershot with the veteran McKeon. Stephens gets time to get stronger in his adjustment to a new position. He was not going to get much playing time, so keeping him on the roster just meant losing someone else.
