Man, if this guy had nothing to do with what happened, I don't think I've ever seen a player so royally screwed.

Its pretty sad if he didn't have anything to do with it. He lost at least $10m and probably closer to $15m. If cleared, he should consider a lawsuit against the police department for the way this handled.

I wonder if he had nothing to do with it, if it'll affect his play going forward. Will he be so bitter that he loses love for the game and affect his performance on the field? If I were in his shoes, I might let it affect me. I think because of this, it's important for whoever takes a chance on him (after this mess is sorted out) give him a fair deal.

I wonder if a team might say, "Sign a one year deal here for the minimum. Next year, you're an exclusive rights FA. We'll treat it like you would have gone where Ereck Flowers went and sign you to that kind of contract."
