Did anyone else watch it? What did you think?

Rumble Johnson was impressive again. That dude just has freaking scary knock out power. Damn.

The Main Event was awesome. I enjoyed every second of it. Those two went to war. So glad Connor came out with the W. I am known to not like Diaz at all but I'll give that man the due he deserves he is a damn warrior. Tough as hell with a ton of heart.

That was awesome to watch.

I really hope they get a third fight at 155. That would be awesome. Great main event.

Conor winning that fight just proves how great he is but I hope he doesn't fight at 170 again. He's a diminished fighter at that weight. His cardio is crap. He's got to conserve from the start and that just makes him a fraction of what he is at his natural weight.

But you could again see the skills gap. No full camp excuse this time. When they both have full tanks Conor absolutely toys with Nate. It's not close. Then he begins to fade toward Nate's level and Diaz can do work.

Dude is an all timer. He's also got brass ones. No fighter on the roster would risk what Conor has to take those fights two weight classes up. He's the biggest draw in the sport by a mile. He's got more to lose than anybody but he still puts it all on the line. I have to respect that.

Supposedly Connor and Nick combined for 82% of the purse. Connor $3M and Diaz with $2M. PPV is supposed to be 5X those amounts for each.

Don't get a chance to watch the events themselves and usually just look for clips online. Never care for the post-fight interviews but streamed last night's even and say Johnson's post-fight interview and it's hard not to root for that guy. An absolute monster and he handles himself like a professional.

Edit: If you check the slow motion replay on the Rumble knockout, you can see a small white missile fire into the sky after the punch. Lots of people thinking it's one of Glover's teeth going into orbit.

On the flipside, there's apparently a new contender for biggest ****** in the UFC. Mike Perry won his first UFC match last night with his corner yelling racist towards his opponent during the introductions. Tattoo on his stomach that reads, "God's Gift". Tattoo on his chest of a cross with, "Mike", in the center of it. I'd say you have to be a borderline narcissist to sport that combo. Lots of comments saying they can't wait for him to be knocked out. Couple of comments about not caring about seeing him knocked out, they'd rather not see him in the ring at all.

It won't be any bigger than his Aldo paycheck. He didn't go up for the money. The money follows him. What I'm saying is it would be very easy to stay at 145 in a division you destroyed and just dominate. Instead he goes right up to fight guys bigger than him. Risking his status as the biggest draw in the sport. No fighter on the roster would do that but him.

I have no idea what that check was, but $18M is a pretty damn nice paycheck to get.

He's not getting 18 million. I don't know where you got that number but that's wrong. Every estimate I've seen from the MMA publications is Conor can make up to 8 or 9 depending on the PPV total. He's the only fighter making that kind of money. No way is Nate getting anything close to that. Ronda was in the ballpark when she was around. The Diaz fight was not a money fight. He'd have gotten the same pay day at 145.

Yeah......I don't really care what they make. They made a lot and I was just passing along stuff I saw while browsing comments on various sites. Where it is relative to each other doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Agreed. When he's fresh he is clearly better.

I give Diaz loads of credit though. Kid is tough. Lots of heart.

Connor already said that he wants the third fight at 155. He gave Diaz his two shots at 170. Now he wants Diaz to come down. I hope Diaz does.

Nate will. His biggest pay day is going to come fighting McGregor. Might as well milk it for a third battle.

I agree.

White is going to have McGregor fight Aldo first though. So they've got to get through that before we can see this third fight.

That's up in the air and many say he won't go back down to 145. He's more interested in the 155 belt. So Aldo can pretend he's the champion and defend against Holloway if that happens.

Nate did the first fight at 170 because he was on a cruise 10 days out and couldn't cut to 155. Nate wanted 155 for the second fight, since that's his weight class - Nick is the 170. Conner wanted 170 because that's the weight he lost at and he wanted to avenge his loss at the same weight. The next one will be at 155.

Skills gap? In what sense? I'll give Connor the clear edge in stand up, but it's no secret he's out of his element on the ground.

Yeah I knew Connor wanted the second fight at 170. He wanted to make sure there were no excuses for anything. I applaud that.

I feel like Nate will definitely take 155. He's already said he'd do it so I believe he would. I know one thing with Nate Diaz he isn't afraid to take a fight. He'll go where the fight is.

Yeah I just read today that maybe Aldo won't be his next fight but that's different from what White was saying prior to the second Diaz fight, and right after it. White was saying that Connor would have to go back down to 145 and defend the title against Aldo next or risk giving the title up. From his post fight interview it didn't seem like Connor was interested in just giving his title up but I know he's not particularly as interested in another fight with Aldo as he is in some other fights.

Connor is a great striker, with no cardio or Bjj. Is ground game is crap, I would love to him matched up against a powerful wrestler.

McGregor faced Chad Mendes. One of the top 2 wrestlers in his division. KO'd him stiff with a bum knee.

Pay no attention to the melvins who say he's got no ground game. They're simpletons. Nate Diaz is a Gracie black belt and Conor swept him in the first fight before he gassed. It is absolutely illogical to think a black belt of that degree would get swept from top position by a guy with no ground game. If you hear people say this you can immediately dismiss their opinions as trash.

McGregor also became a ground fighter against Holloway after blowing out his ACL. Dominated the fight. He's got a ground game. It's just not the strength of his overall game.

As for cardio, another gem. He was fighting two weight classes up. If you're judging someone's cardio in that situation as if it's their norm you either have no clue about MMA or you're just a hater.

Thanks Ms. McGregor.

It's conceivable to claim a guy that has this supposed tremendous ground game get taken out by a freakin' rear naked choke, as he was in the first Diaz fight.
