TUF moves to FX, and the fights will be aired live with clips from the week and clips from the coaches training camps for their own fights. Basically it's Countdown meets TUF.

Less soap opera, more fighting based. Definitely an improvement.

I believe the UFC and Spike are done, so no more UFC content on Spike period. I'm guessing UFC Unleashed will move to FX as well.

Thanks.

But it will give them more exposure. If people really enjoy it, then they will have new subscribers to watch the PPV so they can see the big names. Also, watching up and comers establish a career then go to ppv will be a draw...

It's a really good move by UFC...

That's how Sugar Ray Leonard, his financial handlers and HBO did it.

Leonard created a following with his matches on ABC's Wide World of Sports. Once PPV developed, those matches moved to that venue creating (at that time) high dollared attractions.

Theres the mayhem miller vs bisping season coming up on spike in the traditional format.

Still not sure how this new format works. Do they air a 1 hour show hard knocks style then follow it up w/ a live 30 minute fight? And when do people vote on it if the episode just came on?

Thus sounds the last bell for boxing.

For real. Boxing is finished. In my opinion it was done when Lennox Lewis retired anyway.

I cant watch UFC

The guys circle around each other forever, or they go to the ground and just get tired out holding eachother.

I understand liking fighting, fights are fun to see. But not ufc 'fights', they are incredibly boring.

YouTube "cheik Kongo comeback".

The fights are 15 minutes w/ 8 oz. gloves and can end at any time. If that's not enough you have add

Pretty cool, I'll probably start watching when this takes place.

Some fights are boring, sure, just like some football games are boring.

As a whole though, MMA is as exciting a sport as there is in my opinion.

It's not for everyone so if you find it boring you find it boring. I find baseball incredibly boring but there are people that live and die by it and I can respect that.

I am supposed to be excited by the fact that they can "end at any time"?

Joe rogan and Dana White have you fooled

Like most sports, it's most exciting when you have some idea of what you're watching. I have a feeling you don't.

Not sure what Rogan and White have to do with anything, MMA and UFC are not one and the same.

The fox fights are going to be 1 hour and only 2 fights. That's risky as hell, you can get two duds.

Yeah that's pretty risky there. But if they put a few solid fights on those cards, and people go out and really put on a show like they have numerous times then it could be a real nice hit for them.

I'm not a big fan of his but I think they'll have clay guida on that card. He usually understands to bring it, and he has a lot of gas. Maybe against Melvin guilliard if his fight with lauzon is quick. Clay/guilliard would be fun.

As for the main event any ideas? I need to know who's available. Maybe Mir/carwin.

From what I understand, FOX with get 4 major cards per year. Those would be cards that would normally be PPV, and probably all 4 will have championships on the line.

FX will get 32 cards throughout the year, far more than they've been showing per year on Versus and FX.

And then on top of that, they will sprinkle in some PPV fights.

No matter how you look at it, there will be more cards and more fights available for free.

TNA is not a sport, it's entertainment programming.
Wait, 32 cards on FX? That seems absurd. That, plus the 4 fights on Fox, plus a few PPVs is an absurd number of cards. There would be like 3 events a month!

That could be the main event. Both, IIRC, are coming off of losses. I would be mildly interested in a fight between Mir and Carwin.

But like you I'm uncertain as to who all is available right now that they could put on that first one.

Why? That means you get 36 fight cards for free. There is nothing wrong with getting a lot of fight cards for free, cause even the lesser known people have interesting fights.

Plus with the way the UFC is expanding they're probably going to need to do more cards in order to allow some fighters the chance to get on a card more than 1 or 2 times a year.

They worded the announcement carefully. "32 fights" is not the same as "32 cards". I went back a reread it, sorry for the confusion.

Well with all due respect I'd suggest that you are either someone whose watched very little UFC or you're simply a disgrunted PRIDE fan who still holds that against UFC.

If what you are describing there is what you honestly believe is all UFC fights then you're so far off base it's really sad.

Uh huh. This answers all I needed to know about your above statement.

Watch a few more matches. I've never been a boxing fan, hate wrestling with a passion, know nothing about martial arts, but have become a die hard UFC fan. Rarely do they just lock up on the ground with out the ref busting them apart or having a serious bout of ground and pound. There are some crazy athletes in the UFC, and I'd put guys like Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, and Jon Jones in the same class as some of the greatest athletes in the world.
