If the UFC’s intention was to make an unforgettable first impression in its initial outing on Fox, the organization has certainly done its part, with UFC President Dana White announcing today that the November 12th event on the network will be a world heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and number one contender Junior dos Santos.

The highly-anticipated clash between the two best heavyweights in the world will take place at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The five round championship bout between Velasquez-dos Santos will occupy the one hour time slot on Fox, with the rest of the to be announced card airing in a method to be determined.

-------

Interesting in that its a great fight, but not big on name recognition. Wasnt this fight already scheduled for another PPV?

Good they owe us a few free cards after some of the lame match ups that have taken place this year in the UFC.

I cant believe they sold Griffith vs Shogun as a co-main event.

That's a really nice main event fight for the November 12th card. I like that. See this is what I think Dana and UFC are going to do well. Now obviously I don't think all the cards will have a main event like this but I do believe you'll see these sprinkled in several times a year and it will be worth it.

I like the decision. That's a great way to kick this deal off.
