Amazing how a guy could throw for over 40,000 yards playing in Buffalo and New England if he can't play in bad weather. Or play well enough at Washington State to warrant the #1 pick in the draft.

Yea, 'cause it rains and is cold in those places all year 'round.

Take a peek at his statistics in home games in December while he was there. Or better yet, find me the last time Bledsoe had an even decent game when it rained.

Find me the last time (excluding pre-season) Bledsoe last had a good game, rain or not.

I suppose the Carolina game from last year, but that was like a "diamond surrounded by garbage".

I am being too hard on the guy he played fairly well on Thanksgiving VS Denver, and pretty well VS the Chiefs. Other than that :bang2: .

The problem is, statistically, Bledsoe is terrible in inclement weather games.

I guess a very humid day (Jacksonville) is considered inclement weather?

Agreed. He played a horrible game, but to blame it on bad weather is about as ridiculous and knee jerk a thing I've heard in a week full of ridiculous, knee jerk statements.

umm, not sure where this bledsoe cant play in the rain stuff comes from....Aikman said last year during the sehawks game that bledsoe threw the best wet ball he had ever seen.

Somebody on the board said it once, so it has become fact. I think they're confusing him with Aikman who did have a problem with wet footballs.

It might or might not be true, but I've never heard it anywhere else except on this forum.

I probably started the Bledsoe/bad weather stuff.

I was surprised when I first started looking into it how badly he does whenever it rains or is cold. Statistically, his three worst games last year for Dallas were Seattle in the rain and at NYG and Washington (which just happen to be the two coldest games Dallas played all year). One year may be an anomaly, but look back through his career. Look at his '03 year in Buffalo. They played four games in December, two at home, one at New England and one at Tennessee. He had one game around 90 for a rating and three games at 60 or below (like in the 40s and 30s). Guess which game was the 90.

Look at '04. Four games in December and on in January. Great game at Miami, two lousy games at home. Decent in other warmer weather games at San Francisco and Cinci.

The Jacksonville game was a microcosm of his career. Started off all world when the weather was fine, then started stinking up the place as soon as the drizzle came. Same way he usually starts off strong in September but fades in the cold of December.

Look at the game logs on NFL.com (they go back to '01). Whenever you see an abnormally poor game early in the season, call up the weather for that site on that date. You'd be surprised also.

According to the latest the 60% chance of rain will be late Sunday with only a 20% right before game time

I thought that was Aikman's MO was his inability to throw a wet ball. Now its Bledsoe who cant play with it either??? How is it that opposing QsB never seem to have a problem with the elements but Dallas QBs turn into Babe Laufenberg when it rains or snows?

It clearly was Troy's MO however I don't know about Bledsoe overall history in poor weather games.

I really could care less what any announcer says, most don't have a clue what they're talking about 95% of the time.

Look at Bledsoe's entire '03 season. He was having a great year starting the season. He then has a terrible game on 10/12 at New York. Care to guess what fell from the sky that day?

I think Bledsoe had one pass slow down on him because of the rain and it ended up being a 31 yard PI penalty anyway. He might have forced the next pass deeper than where Owens was running in anticipation of the rain, but I think he just didn't see the deep safety like Owens did.

Other than that PI throw, I don't believe the rain was a factor.

Why don't you just quit beating around the bush and post the weather and the stats...?? I don't have the time or the inclination to go searching for weather reports from the past 14 years. If you have the information, just post it.

From what I've seen so far, I haven't seen any evidence that suggests that these games are more than anomalies. If there's something related to the weather, just tell us. I'm not going to just take your word for it.

And while you're at it, post a control that we can measure against to show that Bledose is worse throwing the ball in bad weather than your average quarterback, since I'm sure all quarterbacks numbers in inclement weather are below their typical averages.

How the heck is this an issue?

No quarterback likes to throw a wet ball.
No quarterback likes to play in the cold.

ALL quarterbacks play better when its dry out.

ALL receivers catch the ball better when its dry.

And typically it rains on both sides of the field at the same time.

True and yet some QB do have a harder time throwing a wet ball. Aikman for starters and admitted it was due to how he gripped the ball which was a bit different than how most QB's hold the ball.

wow.I must be ******** then because I saw bledsoe play every game in buffalo from his rookie year until he became a bill!

I can tell you from off the top of my head in november of 95, I was sitting in the nose bleeds in rich stadium, my seats were frozen, it was gray as it could get, it was a mixture of snow and rain and it was about 30 degrees out and guess what...

Bledsoe was fabulous, threw the ball all over the place. Let me tell you this too, I am assuming you have never been to rich stadium, but it maybe the second or third windiest place in the country...
