Ultimate underwhelmed with Day 1 thread *Merge*

Y'all are insane.

This is sheer genius.

We got a guy who would have been a good pick at #22.
And we got a top 5 pick next year.
We only lost a 3rd and a 5th round pick.

The 5th round pick is a flyer pick anyhow and given our depth, would have been an extreme longshot to make this team.

So they way I see it, we gave up a quality player in the 3rd round for a top 5 pick next year.

This is absolutely amazing.

Mike, Who do you think would have taken him? I like Spencer, but I really think he would have been there at 36.

he would of never gotten by Baltimore either

No way... New England would have taken him...

This is the second year in a row we have scooped New England...

Last year it was Hatcher... this year Spencer...

He isn't fast, he just makes plays...

He's fast in his first 10 yards... that's why he's so good at getting tackles for losses and sacks.

Terrible pick. After making a great deal with Cleveland, we took a step back and overpaid. Good job Philly!

Baltimore and NE both have a need.

What equals to a 4th Rd pick....we got the player we wanted plus a top 5 pick next year......That's a good trade any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

We still have picks to package if we need another 1st day pick.

overpaid? LMAO

spencer was going in the first round. prob to NE from reports. Dallas gave up a 3 and 5 for basically a top 5 pick next year and still have a second rounder left too

Dallas got off today...overpaid nothing

I think we still have a shot at a WR or a DT but the odds are geting steeper for FS or any OL solid choices as of now.

Maybe you guys are right. I am happy overall. Who do you guys like in the 2nd. I think if Jarrett makes it that far, I think it is good value.

after two years of reading this forum during the draft, I have come to one conclusion: We could draft Jesus and people would still complain.

This was a great pick because it filled our biggest need.

The reason we lost games the end of last year wasn't because of bad offensive play or bad safety play. Receivers weren't a problem. DT weren't really a problem. We had only 1 pass rusher. We get the most polished pass rusher in this draft. Mel Kiper said Spencer is his pick to be defensive rookie of the year.

I don't like the deal, can't say nothing about spencer.

We really don't have much of a need at any position so to give up two first day picks is just way too much i guess we were still flying high because of the cleveland deal.

We could still find good talent in the third round, now we sit here with only 2 first day picks.

Again no problem with the spencer pick but the price for moving up was much too high when their was really no need for it. we could have picked good players with 2 seconds and a third rounder anyway.

The guys on ESPN said that NE would have taken Spencer.

The same guys that said Brady Quinn was going #3?
