Its Sports Illustrated .......

You guys sure are trying to convince yourselves that we drafted badly ..... I am very sorry they did not draft who you wanted them to ....

Umm...I didn't say we drafted badly. I thought we did a good job with the first round. I even thought we did ok with the second round trade. IT was when we took a guy who is indeed a project. Someone who both espn and NFLN analysts says will need a lot of coaching.

It's just this ONE pick I had a problem with. Now, if we get him coched up and he becomes the next great thing, yea. He's a cowboy now and I'm rooting for him.

I just think we could have either kept the original pick and got someone who would contribute quicker or draft a position of more immediate need like S.

Ya'll get so wound up if someone has an opinion that goes contrary to yours or to what the Cowboys do. The kool-aid needs to be put away.

And Goose and Mayock said he was a good pick. Goose had him as a 3rd round pick.

But if you put Kiper's word on the draft over Goose, that's your thing.

I think that is true.

So I can't be upset that we addressed tackle.

Spencer is a pick who can at least contribute alot, and fills a position we're hurting at with ellis down. where's the trouble?

I don't know, I just didn't really like the pick of Spencer. The Martin pick I would have loved if it wasn't for the fact that I was already disappointed by the Spencer pick. It has nothing to do with him really. That's why I have tried not to knock him too much because it really isn't fair.

The Spencer pick is starting to grow on me, I hope he has a great year and makes me look foolish, I'd be happy if he did. It was just something about trading with cleveland then trading back up to pick the guy that didn't set well, but oh well.

Here's to Spencer having a Defencive Rookie of the Year award :beer2:

Mayock said he needs a lot of coaching. He also get out of position.

Good man. That's all we can hope for.

Hell, if we;d have taken Jarrett, that's all I would have said. Then, I would have logged off the innernets and killed things.

At the time this thread was started, there were only 4 picks left today. We start the day tomorrow with the 3rd pick. That good enough for you?

They drafted a big guy who played two positions in college, did well against first rate competition at the Senior Bowl, comes from a college known to produce NFL quality offensive lineman, and was projected to be drafted anywhere from the 2-4 round.

We took him in the third. Forget about trading out of the second. That's not his fault and is irrelevant to whether or not he should have been drafted in the third (at a particular number in the third). He was decent value where he was picked.

We need to drafte OL higher than the second day. You can't get all of them at bargain basement prices. His negatives are mostly his balance. If he has poor feet then shame on them if they project him to LOT. If he has good feet he's a bargain.

It seems he is best suited for the strong side. And it appears to me he's best suited at RG, RT or even center if you believe some. Not all OL must be extremely good in space right out of college. Almost every offensive lineman drafted needs 1-2 years of development anyway. His versatility is a plus as well.

The guy looks like a solid draft for right side of the line particularly the interior. It appears he's can be more than a backup. If you can get a solid OL in the third who will start in a year or so then you're ahead of the game. Everyone we draft cannot be so readily seen by then entire league as overwhelmingly an immediate starter. You need more than a few JAGs on your team.

I doubt this changes anyone's opinion but there it is.

If you think we can continue to get these guys in FA and stay cap solvent you're wrong.
