Unbelievable stat

The Cowboys great win last Thursday was unusual in several ways. I heard an amazing stat today on The Ticket’s “Bad Radio” show today.

The stat is this: 2-316-1.

That’s the record of NFL teams when they have this kind of offensive performance and STILL WIN:
1. 13 points
2. Give up 7 sacks
3. Lose the turnover battle 2-1.

Yeah...it’s only the second time in NFL HISTORY a team had those 3 stat lines and still won a game!

That’s a testament to how dominant our defense was last Thursday.
Defense was OUTSTANDING, QB play on the opposite end of the spectrum regardless of those check down completion percentages. I'll enjoy it, but I'm not sure how many times we can pull that off if we can't score or control a weak opposing secondary.

Gameplan. It was keep-away from Brees. Plus Dak lost the ball in scoring position when La'el Collins got blown up by Cameron Jordan and the Cowboys' knelt on the ball to kill the clock inside the 5 late in the game.

So Dallas may have scored 27 if everything worked out right, but they still won, so it's all good, at least this week.

34 if Cooper doesn't fumble.

83 if the O-line was consistent and Zeke could've ran alot.

Who scored the 13 points or marched down the field in the 4th quarter? How many points did the defense put up? It’s Daks fault when we lose but it’s “they” when they win. Ok.
That is the nature of the QB position. Since this is a TEAM game and not a singles game, wins are always a result of TEAM. However, a loss can be attributed to a QB at times. I have seen Romo single handedly lose games for us and I have seen Dak do it also. As to who scored? I recall, Zeke scored the lone TD and Maher the FG's. to score the 13 points.

I was thinking about the fact that our offensive line has actually been pretty bad this year (giving up the most sacks), you can say what you want about Dak but the kid has a heart the size of Texas and doesn't complain about a damn thing. I hope he continues to get better and better & silences the anti-Dak fanbase that is seemingly growing.

And yet people want to say Joe Looney is doing a good job.

That was a passing touchdown not a rushing touchdown. And I guess Maher kicked the 100 yard field goals?

Amazing the stat lines we can generate now.

Our defense was impressive but I suspect Brees had a horrific night as well. We had something to do with that of course but until we continue this type of performance I’m not ready to anoint them Doomsday III.

And our putrid offense and turnover apt QB almost gave it away a couple times.

Great win but if we don’t build from it, it will be for not.

Good stuff Bob!
you left out a penalty inflicted drive against our D, which BTW did get them back close and in the game so to speak....now, that isn't taking a damn ting away from our D, it is simply saying BOTH sides contributed in their own way. Again, it's a team sport, and the team either win's or loses. I am not one to toss it solely on 1 players back, unless he is that player which bonehead play causes the loss directly, IE: Dak's fumble in the goal line VS Washington.

Wow, our D gave up 625 yards that game...Yikes!
At least Murray had a good game until we abandoned the run game early. Couldn’t keep up with Brees. Should have kept running the ball.

That is an amazing stat!! I knew the defense was pretty good but I really didnt give this team a chance against the Saints. Its almost a never lose situation that when the #1 defense meets the #1 offense that the defense wins. I know Dallas isnt the #1 ranked but for some reason I still dont trust this defense yet. I need to see them shut down the Eagles again and then shut down Andrew Luck and then I will start to think they are top 1 or 2. I like the personnel and think the strength of this team is the front 7.
