I can't remember exaclty, but I remember some stories that he was getting practice time with starters. 53 man roster, not sure. Maybe it was due to Swaim and Hanna being injured?

You may be right but I don't know if the team really feels it's a long shot considering they gave him the same amount of money he would've made on the active roster to be on the practice squad all season just so they didn't lose him.

he said he runs a 4.65... so if true, he certainly has the talent for it.
some reports say 290 pounds so the 15 extra pounds could have affected his speed though.

he could certainly play OT though.

Guess we will see come FA and draft time. I doubt a TE will be brought in via FA. But if they draft a TE, that may tell another story. Though they will claim BPA. Which will be ok, I have no issues with that, if in the later rounds.

I hope Rico can and has improved, and shows it in OTA's. This would be great. Could they keep 4 TE's though? They did a few years or so ago I think.

Not to be Debbie Downer but I seen how much our D struggled with Green Bays TE so can we really gauge him on how good he is against our D

there are 2 major jobs for the TE - getting open and catching passes and handle all the different blocking assignments.
if he was wearing down the secondary, then it appears he can get open and catch passes. even if the secondary is not that good, that would mean he at least can catch plenty good enough for a 2nd or 3rd TE.

the key question for him is blocking assignments and not letting someone have a clean shot at dak in some blitz/stunt package.
escobar can probably catch plenty fine, but i believe it was his blocking that prevented him from getting on the field.

but rico would give a new meaning to TE screen.

It doesn't matter how good our pass rushers are, if the O-line is allowed to wrap their arms around the defender's neck the QB will have time to throw

This is my breakout player in the upcoming year. I see him paying YUUUUGE dividends.

We are the only team in the league that asks a pass catching TE to block. If he isn't good at it, don't make him do it. Split him out wide like Graham. Play to your players strengths.
