There's no meat on this bone, but I'd been expecting up until this last week that they'd eventually go back to Romo over Thanksgiving (I thought he'd be back much sooner originally, and still think he would have been back after the bye, if we'd needed him more). For whatever reason, after the Browns game, I shifted a bit in my thinking that this really was becoming Dak's team in a way that's hard to dispute--even if you're making the case for one of the very best Cowboys QBs, ever. By week 12, Dak will have put so much into this season that, if we're still riding high, at some point it becomes unfair to him to take it away--even for Romo.

At this point, I really have no idea what they're going to do. Maybe a back-to-back road game loss to PIT makes that a bit easier. I just can't imagine them giving Tony two games in four days with the Ravens and Commanders on Thanksgiving. And if you wait for Thanksgiving, then you're putting Tony back in after all that time off with a short turnaround. If you don't do it until the next week, you're traveling to an excellent defense in Minnesota.

I want to see Tony have a chance to fit back in. Just having a hard time figuring out where to do it. While, the more Dak plays, the better he seems to be getting.

The quickest way to destroy the chemistry the team has built and divide the lockeroom is to make a QB change in the middle of a great season. For the life if me I can't see Jerry doing something that STUPID with the great season we have going.

This is ridiculous. The Jones' aren't that stupid.

Romo should not play this year unless Dak is injured or it's mop-up time.

Romo has been great in practice without getting hit. Dak has been doing it with the bullets flying. We do need a qb change. lol.

I was back and forth for different reasons for weeks and weeks. At this point it would be just wrong for Romo to just step in and sit Dak down. Never seen it before with this amount of success. I just can't wrap my mind around it.

Why? What's wrong with starting Romo for 2-3 games and if he sucks and we starting losing go back to Dak?

That could destroy our momentum and cause us to go into a slump. It would be foolish to jeopardize the great season we have going when Dak is playing as well as any QB in the league.

That is exactly how this season would derail.

It's a no brainer. You stay with Prescott. If he craps the bed you bring in Romo to save the day.

This doesn't need to be complicated. At 7-1, it's a great position to be in.

Do you trust that they will. I hope so? It's scary how some folks think - makes me question their decision making at work.

Agree with your 2nd sentence. The 1st I'm not so sure about.....

Publicly that is what you know. Reality is no one knows what the locker room feels.

By the way this team is playing together, and the way the D feeds off the O, I'm pretty sure how they feel. Actions speak louder than words.....

Well you're still assuming which is my point and not that you could be right.

You're absolutely right. I am assuming. But are the Jones willing to put this season on the line "assuming" Romo can do what Dak's done? Romo hasn't really played football for 2 years. Why take that chance until it's absolutely necessary?.....

Because those 2-3 games might cost us the division, playoffs, home field or all 3. Now if Dak starts sucking , that's a different story.....

Cause we're trying to get the #1 seed. 2 or 3 losses are critical.

what's wrong with sticking with what's working?

I should've been more clear. I've always thought we should stick with Dak until he struggles. I'm saying we should bring in Romo only IF Dak struggles and drops some games. If he doesn't struggle, then great. Keep the kid in there.

Yes you should've because you didn't say any of that in the post I responded to.

I think they will. Or at least if Prescott can manage to win them all. Which really isn't a fair barometer for him. There's no way Romo gets his job back while the Cowboys are on this run. It'll take a loss or two first at the least.
