Roy Williams was a MUCH bigger fail than bobby carpenter...just about every player on his list was a high profile player..save for a few. Carpenter was never a high profile player..he was an immediate loser from day 1

Drew Henson was the highest rated prospect in football and in baseball...

He had the talent, so why did he fail at both sports?

It seems because he is white, you give him the benefit of the doubt, and suggest that he just wasn't talented enough after all..

Black player in his situation, failing at two sports after being a top prospect... he would be thrown over the coals.

I'm not calling drew henson dumb. I pulled pretty hard for him to be the guy, and I don't think he got a great shot at it, but I acknowledge that I'm just a fan. I'm there at practice, I don't see what he is doing or how hard he practices. All I know is he didn't work out here and I leave it at that.

You're saying this in hindsight now but you can't tell people didn't expect big things from Drew Henson and Barbie. You just can't. Carpenter was a top 15 pick and had the Cowboys not taken him he still would've been at the very least a top 25 pick. You're not picking bums in the 1st round. You're picking starters and stars.

Absolutely not .. I was never a Henson or Carpenter fan. And yes, Carpenter was a horrible first round pick. Neither of those under-achieved my expectations. If anything, Carpenter hung around longer than I expected.

LOL Well you were in the minority. The majority felt Carpenter was a top 15 pick and most draft analysts had him in the 1st round. He was a legit 1st round pick prospect. He failed. He underachieved. Henson is a little trickier.

My speculation came from that fact that he seemed smart to me but on the field he seemed to lack it......so thats why i said book smart and no common sense.

Like i said its speculation....from what i heard people say about him being smart to the interviews were he seemed smart to me.

With all this why can he not make the line calls when it was in his job description?

First of all it seems like wild speculation. What people say about him? What people? What made him seem smart during his interviews? Did he say some specifically thought provoking statements?

Please define common sense for me. I think we're working with two different definitions.

Gurode is one example that needs addressed. It was known that Gurode didn't make line calls. This forum has assumed that the reason is due to him being dumb. This has been repeated on this forum until most people accept it as fact. Why blame the OP or anyone else in this thread now? Has this just become a racist remark starting with this thread or is it just a good time to push an agenda? As I said in a previous post, I have read the same statements about the players that the OP listed on this forum for a very long time. The OP maybe should have included some more players with his post. You are acting like these most of these statements are new. Where was this outrage before? Do you think this forum has always had racist views or is this something new? Explain yourself please .

Tank was a cancer in the locker room. What is so hard for you to understand about a honest mistake? That is just what the OP did. It has done been stated that some more players could be added. Again, why the outrage now on rumors that have been around for years?

I agree on Spears. For a first round draft pick with outstanding college production, he has been an average player at best.

He was a starter the day he got here, and many more years and still plays for the team who drafted him.....a great guy to come in a spell for guys.

Now is he a top 20 of the draft guy.....no but he's still has some production in him.

Bingo. He was a first round pick.. he hasnt' performed at the level you expect of a first round pick.. therefore, he's underachieved.

Yes and no........he didnt pick himself there

IMO if you call him a underachieverin it sounds like he hasn't reached his full potential, but I ask how do u kno he isn't playing to his full potential?
